I went to the Bay horse 2 weeks ago for a few drinks after work with some friends, whilst there we decided to eat as the food leaving the kitchen smelt amazing, (We were not disappointed) between the 5 of us we ordered 2 pizza's 2 hotdogs and a pie, when the food arrived we were very impressed it all looked fantastic, everything tasted amazing don't think i've ever had a better pie and the hotdogs were exceptional.

Whilst we were there there was a band setting up so we decided to hang around, the band were very good and we had an excellent night, what was supposed to be 1 or 2 drinks after work ended up being a full evening out .

I cant recommend this place enough.... the food was fantastic and quite cheap at only £6 per meal. The staff are lovely and cant do enough for you and the live music was very good , all in all an excellent little pub in the northern quarter..

I will definitely be returning.

First time visit last Thursday after seeing on twitter there was an art opening, surprised to see the negative reviews as I had a great night. Good vibes, better music than you hear in some places round the NQ, great art and a secret garden! Really liked the crowd in there, definitely getting the girls out here at the weekend!

Came to a few gigs here over last couple months - great sound and atmosphere in basement. Really tasty veggie pizzas. Bit of a hidden gem in NQ - recommend checking out gigs and menu (esp veggies)

Second visit here was today , fantastic homemade pies , today I had the white wine and fennel pie , sweet potato fries with a barbecue / paprika seasoning lovely crisp fresh salad , food has been brought put both times by one of the chefs Who are so helpful offered salsa or sour cream too , opted for salsa and got a gorgeous home made salsa , yummy , back to the pie - crust was gorgeous and so enjoyable to eat not just a necessary to get to the filing - him indoors had the spicy chicken pie and potato wedges which he thoroughly enjoyed too , I will return to this place again - part of me wants to keep it secret - like its garden but part of me can't help but sing its triumphs

Dreadful soul sucking pub with the worst pool table ever. No atmosphere and very dirty. Avoid at all costs
