“Beautiful hotel in the heart of the city centre”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

I really can’t knock this hotel in anyway and we are not easily pleased. We only stayed one night and we wish it could have been longer. Rooms are spacious and very well furnished to solid 4-5 star standard. The hotel has a really nice feel and atmosphere; very modern in one way blending nicely with the historic charm of the original free trade hall. Service was very good and all the staff are very friendly and always on hand to help. Check in was quick and very informative. We booked a delux room with a king bed, which is their standard room, however, it still seems to benefit from all the same amenities as the other rooms only varying in floor area. We used the spa leisure facilities, which is always a nice addition to a city centre hotel. I think it is only one of a few hotels in Manchester which benefit from this? We prepaid £105.00 for our room and we feel in hindsight this is excellent value for money. We have previously stayed at the Crowne Plaza city centre on a number of occasions which is also a nice hotel, but the Radisson is certainly steps ahead, hence its 5 star rating. We didn’t had breakfast as we had to catch an early morning flight, however, it certainly smelt nice as we were leaving the hotel. When in Manchester again Radisson is our preferred choice!

Room Tip: When we return I think a city view would be a nicer option, which is only a franction more in price.

From the minute of walking into the hotel, we were met with warm and courteous staff who couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is stylish, comfortable, friendly and right in the heart of the city centre. The room was lovely and clean and the bed comfortable. Georgina, on reception had the best customer service skills I have ever experienced in my many, many years of traveling. We normally stay in the Lowry Hotel, Manchester when visiting but we will definitely be staying in this hotel from now on. Fantastic!

This was a special treat from
my sister - the package was excellent value - the massage and facial were very relaxing.
We felt the changing area was very cramped - there were
3 for us and 3 other people and there was no room at all which made it quite awkward and not relaxing. Once we got changed finding which door was the pool was difficult as there were 3 white doors not sign posted which confused us - better if there was a sign to say which one was the pool. The pool was lovely, jacuzzi lovely and hot (bit on the small side and I certainly wouldn't want to sit so close to a stranger had there been anyone else there!), steam and sauna also good.
The afternoon tea was also excellent - tea nice and strong this time (I came in May and wrote a review mentioning tea too weak so glad this has been noted!).
Overall a great experience, service was good this time (my
last review the service in Opus was very poor) so pleased that it was much better this time! Will definitely visit again :-)

I have stayed at various hotels in Manchester and would compare this favourably. Got a good deal for the Sunday, room should have been £300!!!! Staff very helpful although there were not enough staff on the reception, quite a wait. We ate in the restaurant, food OK, wouldnt rush back to eat there, plenty of better places in the city. Our room was really lovely, great bed and shower and bath. A nice touch was the fact that 'someone' had gone into our room before we got back at night to close our blinds, turn down the bed etc. Very pampered. Great reception area . All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room did not have a view, so if you really want one, perhaps it is best to ask.. We did not min...

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I was concerned that you were disappointed with the food. We have become proud of our award-winning restaurants, both of these have proved very popular with hotel guests and local diners.

I found the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester to be a great venue for a business meeting.
Staff were very helpful with the booking process and very helpful when we were there.
The building is beautiful and we will be booking there again next time we are in Manchester!

The friendliest staff in Manchester, always ready to make your stay special. Stayed in a few hotels, but the Raddison is by far superior. Rooms are very much alike, not much between them, even those on Exec floors. The steak and lobster restaurant looses its appeal after a couple of visits, and room service menu is very limited, but you are so central, you have great choice outside the hotel.

Room Tip: Best hotel for service and location in Manchester. I travel here on business regularly, and all over...

Stayed with business and the rooms were of a high standard service was very good and very nice bar in the place. Importantly only thing to mind is the location I didn't explore to much but Dean street was a 10 minute walk and probably 15 for the northern quarter which is a very pleasant place to spend your evening. Have stayed at a better location before. Outside of that but I can say didn't have any real complaints. The breakfast is not the best for a place of this standard but not bad.
