“Lovely hotel but why charge for wifi”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

We stayed here for a family wedding - the hotel is gorgeous - lovely Victorian detail - high ceilings, mouldings, stained glass the works. Dinner excellent, Irish breakfast superb. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in in a hotel. We stayed in Room 10 and had a bath at the foot of the bed which was novel :-) DAB radio in the rooms and lovely toiletries. (Only one towelling robe though which seemed odd)

I would have given this hotel 5* without question were it not for the fact that they charge for wifi. The rooms ain't cheap and to sell wifi for £10 a day (if remember correctly - I didn't pay it obviously) is taking the mickey. Bad move. A minor inconvenience, but it leaves a sour taste which is why you only got 4 not 5 stars from me.

Room Tip: Room 10 has a lovely bath in the room itself

We recently held our wedding here and had an amazing time. Staff were great and made us feel very relaxed. All the rooms are perfect and stunning building makes for a fairy tale wedding. We went for BBQ menu and even though Manchester weather wasn't up to much the food was. Big thanks to you all, and hope see all again. I've stayed at many hotels but this is the one, shows Manchester can do classy easy. Thanks-J+K

I'm staying regularly in the Manchester area for short business trips. Didsburry house is a small hotel (+/- 25 rooms) with fantastic decoration and excellent service in the village of Didsbury. Personnel is very kind. Rooms are hughe and the decoration of the hotel interior is splendid.

Stunning is possibly the best way to describe my step daughters wedding this week at Didsbury House.
Everything was stunning: the hotel, the rooms, the staff, the bedrooms, the breakfast.
Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, who were friendly and attentive, but very discreet.
The bedrooms are amazing - all individually designed with quirky elements in each.
The main hotel public areas are all equally stunning and the courtyard is great for grabbing some fresh air and indulging in a BBQ as we did.
The following morning, breakfast was amazing - cooked to order, plenty of it and loads of choice.
Can't fault this location for a wedding.

I love this place.

I've been using this hotel for the last 12 months and receive a warm welcome every time I set foot through the front door.

The staff are friendly, informative and really helpful in everything they do.

The rooms are a delight and it makes working away from home really comfortable with pretty much all the essentials catered for.

Returning guests are welcomed with enthusiasm, and any comments made are acted upon immediately. For example, I mentioned one morning to Adriana that I found the pillows too soft (I'm not really a Prima-dona) and by the time I got back to the room she had arranged for them to be changed, and every time I come back they ensure I get the right pillows each time.

Brilliant service and great style

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice quiet night away together and booked an Eclectic Villa room.
The staff could not be more welcoming and helpful on arrival. We were showed to our beautiful room where we were met with subtle classical music which was a really nice touch. The room was just as we had imagined from the pictures online. Sometimes looks can be deceptive with promotional images but not in this case. It was simply stunning and the roll top bath in the bay window made our stay. It really was just perfect and we can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Upgrade to an Eclectic Villa room. It's well worth it!

Were happy with Didsbury House immediately as we were upgraded due to overbooking for a wedding. Result! Room was beautiful and over 3 floors. Stand alone bath next to bed gave a luxurious feel and bed was lovely and comfortable. We had a cocktail in the bar before going out in the evening which was lovely and the staff were extremely friendly.
Would love to stay again next time I'm in Manchester. I'm not too sure how close this hotel is to central Manchester but we were attending a party in Didsbury so was perfect for us.
