“SMALL, JUST GO THERE FOR CHINESE FOOD”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Manchester is a relatively small city compared with London, Birmingham or Leeds. But it should be commended for the effort in presenting a Chinatown. There is the Chinese arch, and beyond, it has several Chinse restaurants in the surrounding streets. Most look decrepit, but I am sure the food inside is better.

“Love this place and visit often”
Reviewed November 7, 2012 via mobile

Really love Chinatown in Manchester. We always have a nice meal and then take a look around the shops. We like to purchase items never had before to try them out.

Nice atmosphere and usually fairly busy the only down point is smelly drains.

Well worth a visit.

“OK but nothing to write home about”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

If you are expecting a China town comparable with London you will be disappointed.
There are many asian supermarkets selling interesting food and other items, and these are always great for a browse, but the general area is quite seedy and dirty. Strip joints and poor quality Chinese restaurants. The Chinese arch is worth a look, but unfortunately the gazebo next to it is always without exception filled with anti social arguing drug addicts / chavs.
It's worth a look, but don't have high expectations.

“Nice to visit I in the area. Not worth a special trip”
Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

Small part of Manchester city centre here you will find: Chinese people. , Chinese supermarkets and trinket shops and lots of Chinese resteraunts. There are goog des to be had especially on all you can eat buffet lunches as there is so much competition. Nice to go around Chinese New Year (jan/feb? ) there is a parade, dragon etc and much more going on
