“Food and supermarkets”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

This has to be the best Chinatown in the north of England. The choice of restaurants is the biggest draw. The food is good because the competition is fierce. You can get good deals here. There are also supermarkets with some great value commodities. The Chinese arch looks great but not worth going out of your way to see.

“Great when you're hungry!”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

During the day this is a very picturesque area. Brilliant around Chinese New Year - plenty of entertainment.
At night it can be a little isolating but there are plenty of places open til late.
Lovely food, always friendly.
Close to transport.

“Amazing diversity”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Chinatown is a town within a city. Restaurants, bars, hotel (?), shops, supermarkets etc. Normally, the palce is busy - but at weekends, it is heaving.! It is advisable to book in advance, rather than 'risk' getting a table in the more well-known restaurants.

“Spoilt for choice”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

I have been to Chinatown so many times, I don;t think I have ever been to the same restaurant twice, there are so many to choose from. They are all basically priced the same and the service has been excellent in all the restaurants. It looks completely different in the daytime than the night time. Come and have a look
