Hi Stephen.
I'm really sorry to hear about your disappointment on your recent visit. We endeavour to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene and as such check our toilets throughout the day, with staff signing a check list at least 3 times a day. We also keep the floors as clean as possible, wiping up silages and mopping frequently as customers allow. As we have a lot of children in our shop, they can create mess which we clean as soon as the table is vacated, we appreciate that occasionally areas are missed but we always do our best. Did you inform any staff to the issues at the time? We will always address any issue of this nature as soon as we are made aware of them. Could you let me know what day you visited so we can check if there was a problem that day? I do hope you’ll visit again so we can rectify this with you.
Regards
Vicky

Loved it! Went for afternoon tea today, they fit us in at short notice and they were brilliant! Service was super, nothing was too much trouble. Sandwiches were lovely, nice varied fillings. Super choice of teas (washed down with prosecco!) and the cakes and scones were really fresh and delicious. Too much to eat so we took a doggy bag home :0) I would heartily recommend!

This place does a great selection of loose leaf teas and sweet treats but it is also great for brunch. The Welsh rarebit, creme fraiche omelette, mushrooms on toast etc... are lovely and such good value. It can be hard to get a table straight away at the weekend but is worth the wait

We love the Tea Hive. We have been frequent visitors from the week it opened. It's a style that you either love or don't notice I guess!
As far as we have experienced, in all our business meetings, family outings, end-of-term treats and random lazy afternoons, we haven't had a bad cuppa or a poor cake.
The breakfast is great, big chunky 'doorstop' bread bacon butties and deliciously scrumptious omelettes to name but two delectable offerings.
Soup with interesting sandwiches, (not your average boring run-of-the-mill fare) and home made chutneys, yum.
If we are taking anyone out for coffee & cake, we go to the Tea Hive, basically we can't get enough of it!
Go, and take your friends, you won't regret it!

The Tea hive is a great little tea shop in Chorlton, Manchester.

Sublime baking with fabulous teas and great coffee. They grind the coffee freshly for every cup.

The cheese on toast with a hint of dijon mustard is also a winner.

The only criticism I have is that shabby chic can quickly become tired chic and then not very clean chic if it is not monitored and and managed.

The cakes are BRILLIANT but the place does feel like it needs a proper clean. Will that stop me going, absolutely not. The owners are fantastic bakers.
