Dinner on a sat night. Chose the place on internet/trip advisor. Good menu and reasonably priced. We felt it was a good choice. Food generally tasty and staff attentive. Relaxed atmosphere.

“Another hit”

Pre-theatre meal here was excellent again. Burger to die for and a well received cod loin. Fish cake and chicken/mushroom/Parma ham starters very tasty. Cocktail was well received too.

“Smashing quirky restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

Picked the restaurant from the internet. Splendid choice. Lovely lovely food, unusual menu, thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Really scrummy burger and a cheesecake to die for.
Live music rounded of the experience beautifully.

“Tasty cooking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

We ate on a Saturday night and enjoyed it greatly. The staff were friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere and good service, even when busy.

We both had burgers, and they were excellent. The JS Burger was flavoursome, succulent and had just the right amount of garnish. The Blue Cheese Rarebit Burger, from the specials board, was also lovely. Salty pancetta and blue cheese complementing the well seasoned beef patty. The fries were crisp and golden and the homemade sauces were a great addition.

We shared a starter, had drinks and a bottle of wine and the bill was still under £50. Having often been disappointed by Manchester's American-style restaurants, it's good to finally find one that does it right, concentrating more on the cooking than the ambience and gimmicks.

“cosy restaurant in heart of the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2014

Two of us here dined here pre theatre around 1730 . Very nice and eclectic atmosphere and a friendly welcome. Menu small but with good choice of interesting dishes. Theres an excellent early dining offer - but good value menu any way. Both enjoyed 2 courses of quality well presented fare. had a decent bottle of montepulciano and change from 50 quid.
Recommended - nice to visit a smaller scale restaurant against the trend of the larger corporate restaurants opening in the city.
