Hello Mickael,

Lovely to hear that you thought us so special that you would bring your sister in whilst visiting from France.

Great to hear that we looked after you so well and that you enjoyed all the scrummy things that we have on offer including the cakes and scones.

Lets hope your sister went back to France and has fond memories of the lovely day out you had in our tea rooms.

My daughter was meeting business clients here and need a lift so we decided to have lunch too (at a different table!) We had a lovely light meal - ordered from the breakfast menu at 12.55! The food was served quickly, despite being such a busy time, and was very fresh and tasty - prices are very reasonable and the menus are extensive. The staff were attentive and very pleasant without being intrusive. After a stroll around the Canal Street area and a visit to the art gallery the meeting was still in full flow so we decided to wait inside and ordered drinks in The Lodge room. I will definitely be popping in here again when I visit the city centre.

A group of 11 of us went for afternoon tea in Alice in Wonderland fancy dress for a hen party. We were given our own little canopied area and the table was set out beautifully. The staff were very accommodating and polite, as well as good humoured. The food was just beautiful and so delicious. With such a huge range of tea we didn't know what to pick, so James our lovely waiter gave us some suggestions and they were lovely.
This was a great little find and I would most certainly recommend it to anyone and everyone, can't be beaten!

Afternoon tea in the Richmond Tea Room is a surreal but totally delightful experience. You half expect your afternoon tea to be delivered by the Mad Hatter or Alice herself. It is an absolute delight to take a real traditional afternoon tea here. The Sandwiches are delicious, the scones are tasty and the cakes are scrumptious. Youareserved by attentive waiting staff and neverfeeel rushed. All in all if you want the best afternoon tea in manchester then head to Richmond Tea Rooms.

Hello Jonathan,

A huge thank you from us, for such lovely comments!

So pleased you enjoy delightful experience with us, the team here have quite often asked if they could dress up....

We do get a lot of party's in that do get dressed up to come and visit us, from Alice to the mad hatter, white rabbits, tweedle di and tweedle dum and the queen of hearts, we have had the pleasure of them all...

We even had someone in a few weeks ago with a giant Mad Hatters, top hat made entirely out of balloon sculptures it was amazing!

It is great to hear you like the traditional aspect too.... a proper afternoon tea with finger sandwiches and savouries, freshly baked clotted cream scones with strawberry jam and beautiful home made cakes, all served with a lovely cup of tea out of a china tea pot, cup and saucer. PERFECT!

I think that is why we are so popular it takes people back to childhood, and introduces children to something they have never experienced before!

Thank you for the lovely comments about our team, we do consider ourselves to be very lucky to have such a great, hard working dedicated team, both front of house and in the kitchen.

Lets hope we can tempt you again very soon.

This quirky venue is worth visiting if only to see the decor. The Alice in Wonderland theme certainly makes you smile! The food is good and the staff are efficient. This is a good place to visit for coffee & cake or a tasty snack. The cafe can get busy and booking at weekends is recommended.
