“More than just you sharing the bed.”
Reviewed July 15, 2014

Our stay in this Hotel was good up until the last night. My wife was laying on the spare bed and felt alittle cold so used the duvet to cover her legs. She got bed bug bites on her legs after ½ hour!!!

The above complaint regarding insect bites has been fully investigated by our management team and by an external, professional pest control company. We take such complaints very seriously and follow strict policies to ensure thorough checks are performed in our hotels without delay. We can confirm no evidence of infestation was found in our hotel.

I stayed with my 11 year old son last night. The room was fresh, clean and crisp and very nice to stay in. Tea and coffee was available in the room. We were going to go out for a meal but decided to stay in the hotel as the food was reasonable and smelled good! We were both very pleased with our choices and were glad we stayed. Had a great nights sleep and nice shower in the morning. The breakfast was great value as I paid £6 on line and we both ate for that as kids are free ( you could have 2 children eating for free with my meal which is fantastic value), we had fruit juice, bacon, sausage, beans, tomato and toast. A choice of small boxed cereals, croissants, yoghurts, scrambled egg and teas were available too. I paid £40 for the room and didn't expect much so I was very relieved and surprised. The staff were all extremely helpful and polite, totally faultless. Had about a mile walk to the museum and further to the art gallery but it wasn't a problem for us. Parking here was free, other places either didn't have parking or it was expensive so we left the car to go exploring- others may want to get a taxi. Had an excellent experience.

Room Tip: Ask the receptionists - they are extremely helpful!

Chose this as the cheapest room I could get in Manchester on a few weeks notice, didn't appreciate quite how far away from city centre it was (a long walk...) which was a bit of a drag, but taxis to centre (£7ish) were very reasonable and quick. On the plus side quite a nice travelodge, very recently built and room was nice. Be warned hen parties seem to stay here, so be prepared for being woken 4amish as they return, that said even though the room next to me was a hen room the noise wasn't that bad after they'd made a bit of noise in the coridoor, so I think fairly good sound insulation between rooms.

Room Tip: Ask not to be at the front to avoid main road noise-they usually are not full and seemed happy to do...

I booked this easily online with early check in and breakfast included for 4 people - online discount for the breakfast. I wanted somewhere convenient within walking distance of the university for my daughter's graduation ceremony; this ticked all the boxes. Friendly welcome, very clean and spacious room, bathroom and toilet very clean, only slight grumble was that there was only one towel for a double room but I'm sure they would have given us another if asked. Our room was on the side of the building, so we got a bit of traffic noise but nothing excessive. Regular bus service on this road and a free phone available to ring for taxis as well. Great location for the Curry Mile. Breakfast was all you could eat buffet style, with cereals, toast, juice, tea and coffee, plus sausages, bacon beans tomatoes scrambled egg - all in all very good value for £6! Can definitely recommend if you want great value for money.

Though far from the city center, its location is very close to the University of Manchester and has good access to the center by public transport. Excellent staff. Rooms without noise even being near a hospital.

Had a four day stay from Friday to Monday 4th to 7th July, along with 7 friends in twin rooms.
The accommodation was very good value for the money we paid. We had a few issues over the rooms; two pairs had a double bed when twin beds were requested but we worked it out between us.
Found the bed to be narrow for single beds; smaller than average but comfortable. The room only had six hangers for clothes but no wardrobe, so had to leave most of our clothes in the suitcase/ holdall.
For our needs, it was fine but for someone expecting similar standard to say a Premier Inn, it would be a step back because of the minimal furnishings.
When asked about how we enjoyed our stay, the Duty Manager took money off the bill and offered free drinks which I thought was good for the inconvenience of the double beds.

Stayed for one night due to a swimming event at the Manchester Aquatic centre. We recieved a warm welcome on arrival. The room was nice and big and very clean. A hairdryer was available on request and I mentioned on my way out for dinner that the room was hot, by the the time we got back, someone had placed a fan in our room, What great service. Also Great value for money would definitely recommend.
