This hotel is in a wonderful location in the Northern Quarter of Manchester. Fabulous shops, restaurants and entertainment are all within easy walking distance. A secure, clean, well-lit and modern building. The staff are all friendly, helpful and accommodating (they have handy maps of the city! Use them!).
The rooms are small but comfortable. Best bathroom/shower I've had in England. Coffee/tea available in room, hair dryer provided.
The breakfast is amazing! Busy at times, but always enough food!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Arndale Centre. Helped me to visually map where I wanted to go by looking out my window.

New Holiday Inn Express and the quality and specification is very high vs. what u would normally associate with the brand. Quality fittings in the bedrooms - first class bathroom with big walk in shower. Housekeeping were very good..really looked like the place had been cleaned and loads of towels etc..
Great location ....walk down the street and you hit the bars of NQ...but actually pretty quiet in the nights - no disturbances. sound insulation seemed great - could not hear anything from the corridor or room next door.
Check in and check out was efficient - although not overflowing with warmth...
Rooms do have hairdryers and free internet which was better than I was expecting although not super fast - u can pay to upgrade.
Only slight annoyance was breakfast - yes u get a pretty good free breakfast..hot and cold stuff.
It got really busy with tour groups and there seemed to be no one around to clean up the mess or stay on top of things....spills on the floor etc.
Value for money....this place is right up there in terms of quality, convenience and all the extras like free internet and free breakfast.....

Room Tip: Some have bigger windows which makes the rooms feel bigger

Thank you very much for choosing the Holiday Inn Express Manchester Arena for your recent trip. I am very happy to read that you enjoyed most aspects of your stay. I will be following up with my team in regards to the short falls in service during breakfast time. It can get very busy during certain times at breakfast, however we ensure there is enough staff at all times to deal with any spills or mess in the breakfast area. Once again thank you for your stay and feedback and we hope to see you again soon.

Best Regards

Can't understand why anyone would want to complain! Paid £180 for a 3 night stay (Monday -Thursday) in this lovely, Central Manchester hotel.
Polite, welcoming staff. Clean, quiet, modern room and a basic breakfast included too. What more could you want that doesn't cost you 3 times as much!

I stayed here for 3 nights. The general manager (Michelle) and reservation manager (Alicja) were amazingly helpful, and the hotel staff were extremely friendly. The room was spacious and had great views of the city. Everything was spotless, and well organised. The hotel is also brilliantly located right next to all the restaurants of the northern quarter, and and you can walk pretty much anywhere in the city. To top it all i slept really well. No issues whatsoever. Go ahead and book!

The hotel is close to the National Football Museum and Printworks, which appeared to be a very trendy area, we saw at least 5 hen/ bachelorettes parties walking in that area. Parking was a block away, there was construction work where you can park to check in at the hotel so it was a bit awkward to get in and out to get to the parking.

We paid for the high speed internet and it worked well, we had a double room with the sofa bed and that was comfortable. I couldn't get coffee downstairs before the breakfast time of 7:30 which was a bit inconvenient - there was a kettle and instant coffee in the room, I don't like instant coffee. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good/ average for this type of breakfast.

I would have given the hotel a rating of good if there was one - it is better than average, but I am not sure I would call it very good.
