I chose this hotel due to the great location (its fantastic, especially if you want to visit the northern quarter) and also its very reasonable parking rates. Upon check in the staff were very friendly and informative and our room was clean and very well decorated. Negative points included the fact that the wi fi was shockingly poor and the bathroom lights had to be kept on all the time otherwise they didn't get bright enough for us to even see when we were in the bathroom. The worst point though was the breakfast. Upon arriving at the breakfast area we weren't even able to find a seat. After waiting for a while we were able to perch up at the bar. I went up to get some breakfast while my partner stayed seated. Everything was empty, there was no pastries or hot food, it was all waiting to be replenished. I returned to my partner and as we waited for the food to come out the queue was getting bigger and bigger so in the end we left it and went and got some food from the Spar opposite the hotel, very disappointing.

The hotel was spotless, staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was self service with a very good selection of food. The bedroom was quite sufficient for our needs, beds comfy, bathroom very spacious with a very big shower with subtle lighting, it had TV and coffee making facilities

Extremely impressed with the room we had, it was spotless, the bathroom was very modern. Could not fault the room at all. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. Slightly disappointed with the breakfast, the choice was very limited and the coffee was terrible. We ended up going to a coffee shop across the road. But for what we paid for the room, it was still well worth it. Would definetly stay here again and will be recommending it to people venturing into the city.

Just stayed for 5 nights here while on a course in Manchester, nice clean rooms. Great location for Arndale shopping centre. Good breakfast considering the price of the room. Would definitely stay again. Lovely friendly attentive staff.

Pretty standard rooms for a Holiday Inn Express, so clean, comfortable and a reasonable amount of space. The hotel is well located on the edge of the Northern quarter, close to anything in Manchester city centre. The free wifi is pretty slow as others have said but just about OK for general internet use. The breakfast is quite nice food-wise but absolute chaos logistically - everyone is channelled into a thin side room where the food is laid out, but because the coffee machines are slow / people want to go back and forward it ends up being a complete log jam. Overall very good for the price though.

Room Tip: go for a low room so that you don't have to wait for the lift - one always out of service for cleaning at peak breakfast time which always strikes me as odd timing
