“Excellent location in the heart of the city”

I booked the Holiday Inn in the city center of Manchester following the comments in the TripAdvisor community and I should say it is the absolutly perfect place to be. The service is very friendly and fast, the room is nice and quiet and the breakfast offers are really adapted to different tastes. Also, with the advance-saver booking, the room price is absolutely acceptable. Nothing to add! Simply a good choice.

Room Tip: I had a room in the 7th floor which turned out to be a good choice because it is quite calm

Stayed here for the first time yesterday and be staying again and again when visiting Manchester.

Staff were very helpful but not pushy. Breakfast was very good considering it was free. Free newspaper. Rooms very, very clean and shower cubicle enormous.

I know this is a relatively new hotel, which helps, but as long as they keep it well cleaned and decorated I would recommend.

Inexpensive too.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in August. After reading tips on this forum, I had requested a high floor room away from the lifts, the room we were allocated fitted my request perfectly. The room was fairly spacious, with 2 twin beds, my wife said it was the most comfortable hotel bed she had ever slept in. TV, basic wifi, tea & coffee makings were included, the only downside was the bathroom lighting, much too dim!! A basic perfectly acceptable breakfast was included in the room rate, comprising scrambled eggs, sausage and beans, plus toast and a selection of cereals, pastries, fresh fruit and yogurts. Coffee from a machine, though, must be the worst tasting liquid ever dispensed...totally disgusting (and I tried 3 combinations).
The hotel is very convenient for the city centre, Arndale shopping an Printworks, we will definitely consider staying again.

Spent a night here while attending an evening event in Manchester.

The hotel is located close to the manchester arena at the top of the Nothern Quarter; the location is quiet because its on a private square with no traffic.

Just down high street are a number of bars and places to eat so you are not "stuck with" eating in the hotel. (The Sweet Mandarin is 30 seconds away - check out the reviews for this on Tripadvisor).

Major attractions such as the Arena, the National Football Museum and Arndale Center are only a few mins away and the manchester craft and design center is almost next door.

Check in was fast and efficient.

Room could have accommodated 3 people as it had a sofabed in addition to the bed. The bed itself was comfortable and there was a choice of firm and soft pillows.

Hotel provides free wifi and pay for wifi - the free one being better described as slowfi, ok for email but dont try streaming a movie.

I found the breakfast a little disappointing, its a self service buffet but some of the plates looked like they needed a 2nd wash and the sequence of trays, plates etc is difficult to manage (If you collect a tray at the start there is nowhere to put it while you "load you plate", if you dont then you have to go against the one way system to get one).

I would use again as the location is so good.

Room Tip: odd numbered rooms are at the front of the hotel (overlooking the square) and are slightly larger du...

This has to be one of the most spotless hotels I've ever stayed in. Absolutely immaculate, it's like somebody had just taken it out of the wrapper. Looking forward to staying again on te 21st September. No parking but there is a car park over the road for £5 overnight. Bargain.

We stayed here one Saturday night while we were in Manchester to see a performance at the Arena. We were pleasantly surprised as this was a bit of a last minute booking after I had failed to get rooms at some of the other local hotels.
The hotel was easy to find using the postcode they provided for Satnav use. We managed to park at the Euro Car Park nearby and got a 24 hour parking ticket from the hotel for £4.50.
Three of us shared the room, which had a double bed and a double sofa bed. The room was clean, had all the basic amenities (flat screen tv, coffee making facilities, hand wash and body wash/shampoo in the shower.) The bathroom was nice, although the lighting was a bit dim for doing make-up etc.
The beds weren't particularly comfortable, but were clean and perfectly ok for one night.
The front desk staff were helpful in suggesting where to eat, how to get to the arena etc.
Breakfast is self service and perfectly adequate. Choices included sausages, scrambled eggs, beans, toast, cereals, fruit juice, tea, coffee (from a machine), Danish pastries, mini croissants, fruit and yoghurts.
The hotel is within easy walking distance from some nice bars and restaurants and the Arena is easily walkable.
One night, one room for 3 people at the weekend, cost us £120.
We felt it was a good option for a one-night stay to go to a concert, but not our first choice for a longer stay.
