“Good value, stylish rooms”
Reviewed December 5, 2011

Stayed here overnight on a Saturday and paid £68 for a double. Checking in was quick and easy. The room fairly spacious and we appreciated the sofa which you quite often don't get in a budget room. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was great. It was also quiet in the room on what was a busy Saturday night. The only downside was that the room felt a little cold, even when the heating was on full.

We didn't have breakfast but looked into the room when we were checking out and it didn't look too much of a scrum.

All in all it's a good hotel in a convenient location.

Having booked and paid for my hotel room on October 22nd, for one night stay on 2nd December 2012 I was looking forward to a relaxing nights stay. When we checked in (by Duane) we were asked how we would like to settle our bill, I immediately advised him that the bill had already been settled, he checked and then confirmed that it had been settled prior to arrival. Our stay was comfortable, the room was very clean but the quite small. Breakfast was ok, but limited and served on the cool side of warm. When checking out we were once again told the bill had been settled and we were free to leave. Upon checking our Internet banking later in the day I discovered a discrepancy of £76.50 (just happened to be our room rate!!) I called the central reservations team who advised that a payment had been taken on the night of my stay, and no trace of my payment made in October could be traced, even though payment had to be taken at the time of booking to secure the advanced rate offered! I am still waiting for a call back from the hotel to discuss the entire issue!

Stayed here for a Single night whilst attending a concert at the MEN. The hardest part initially was finding the Hotel & somewhere to park, after going past it at the first try, eventually parked in the slip road by the Crowne Plaza to drop our bags off.
The staff on the front desk soon gave us directions on were to park, staff generally were friendly & very helpful but on returning to the desk later I was surprised 2 of 3 people had little local knowledge on Manchester, fortunately the 3rd person knew the area & even rang the place we wanted to visit to confirm location.
The Hotel location was superb, within 2-3 minutes walking distance of the Arndale & the printworks & cheap ( £4.80) 24 hour parking nearby.
The rooms are quiet & you do not feel you are in a city centre hotel, only two problems - even with the air conditioning switched off the motor continued whirring throughout the night in the bedroom which led to disturbed sleep, 2nd point, others have already commented about the Breakfast area & the food area itself is a bit of a design fault, however the breakfast was good & no problems in the eating area itself.
Will definitely stay in this hotel again when visiting Manchester

Booked the room on line through late rooms, but didn't get it any cheaper than just turning up, paid £75. and that was the offered rate when we got there. It was by far the cheapest hotel we found for Manchester and included breakfast.
It is close to the MEN but, it is still a brisk 10 minute walk, don,t expect it to be next door to the MEN. it is not that close, check the map out if you want to see it's location.
Booking in was quick and helpfull, we were in a rush, and Michael at the desk whizzed us through the procedure.
The room was modern, clean, well set out, with air con which could be switched down to accomodate people like us. Pillows are marked with "soft or firm" The bed was very comfortable and the shower was immense. For some reason the single bed was made up, but on reflection Michael may have been having difficulty with finding our booking on the computer. Whatever, he let us have a room, although if the place had been full......
There are no streets outside the hotel, so things were quiet overnight and we slept well.
Breakfast.....not quite the worst ever, that's going too far, it was OK, but a very large queue formed in the very restricted self service area, due to the lack of cooked food I suspect, and the queue was there for a good 10 minutes. If you want a cooked breakfast, it isd limited to sausages (poor quality) scrambled egg, beans. That's it for cooked, but that suits me. There is fruit, yoghurt, bread, rolls, pain au chocolat, croissants, cereal, fruit juices, coffee tea etc.
The queue will have spoilt the thing for a lot of people, the staff were low profile and the girl working in the dining area seemed unhappy with role......they could keep more of an eye on cooked food levels.
I met a friend there and he mentioned parking, apparently there is an NCP close to the hotel which charges £5 for 24 hours, worth considering if you want to drive into the city.

Excellent hotel. Stayed in a twin-room to attend a gig at the M.E.N Arena. The hotel must be quite new and it feels very modern. We got a good rate of under £60 and could not complain at all. Clean and tidy modern room, very big shower. Breakfast was good - you never quite know what to expect when promised a continental brekkie and to be honest it was better than I had expected i.e sausages, egg, beans as well as croissants, cheese, toast, cereal etc so enough to feed off the post gig hangover! As stated in other reviews - the architect must have left the work experience kid in charge of designing the room that you have to shuffle about in to get your food!

Very convenient for the Arndale Centre / Shopping, The Printworks and the M.E.N Arena.

There's no parking however there was a Euro Car parks outdoor car park 200 yards away which only cost £4.80 for 24 hours.

Great location, new and clean, but let down by the worst breakfast I have had in a long time. For starters, the serving area is in a tiny room off just off the seating area. There's hardly enough room to turn around once in. There waere not enough staff, and they ran out of cutlery. Adrian Edmonson was sat next to us eating his 'cooked' breafast with a spoon!!!!! The only hot food (actually luke-warm) were cheap sausages, scrambled egg and beans.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Exprees in Brighton, at the breakfast there was fantastic. I can't see how Manchester has got it so wrong.
