Description: Bistro West 156 restaurant is a shining star in the thriving restaurant scene on Burton Road in Manchesters West Didsbury, a quirky corner thats a foodie heaven not all that far from where the M60 and the M56 part company. Bistro West 156s pocket-friendly traditional cooking cuts out all the malarkey to deliver modern British cuisine, the real food that loyal fans adore. The rustic dining room with its granite topped tables, blackboard specials and changing local art displays sets a relaxed tone for easy lunches and suppers. While the food may be fine dining level, the ambience is bistro informal from terrific breakfasts right through to the last sip of dessert wine. Everything is homemade, and customer favourites include superbly cooked comfort classics like fish pie, chicken Kiev and Bistro West 156s very own melting chocolate pudding. You will succumb. The warm welcome and tables outside entice you to linger.

This gorgeous little place is absolutely brilliant and we loved everything about it. We ventured into West Disbury for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks and walked past this restaurant. I had heard fantastic things about Bistro West 156 so we decided to see what all of the fuss was about. The portions were extremely generous and we both thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. The service was brilliant and we were made to feel extremely welcome throughout our lovely meal. I would not hesitate to go back and try some more of the dishes as there were so many things on the menu which sounded delicious. It is quite a little place and is ideal for couples looking for a romantic meal or small groups of friends who want a quieter dinner as the atmosphere is intimate and relaxed. It is nice to be able to have a conversation and hear what the person is saying opposite you for a change. Highly recommended.

Have you ever tried their melting chocolate pudding? You should. I love this little place. Small but perfectly formed with excellent service and the food is really really good. Any time is a good time to go. Burton Road is the hub of Boho Chic culture or the New Yuppie so you can often see a nice eclectic mix in 156. I love that they source local ingredients and have a really diverse menu. Awesome place.

Had a great meal at the Bistro. Starters and main were both very nice - can't fault it.
Definitely worth a visit.

Friendly staff, very efficient service.

Booking is essential. The Bistro is small and quaint and fills up quickly.

Came here for a meal after reading reviews online. The food was delicious, plentiful and tasty. It's quite small so the atmosphere is just right, the only downfall was we came early and found the restaurant to be cold..... Odd thing I know, but would have felt more comfortable if it was warmer. The staff were attentive, we would definetly return if in the area.

Must start by thanking the team for accommodating our dietary requests. Food was very nice, portions huge (maybe even too big!!). ambience great. restaurant was packed. Good value considering quality of food and portion sizes. Souffle was particularly good, along with the special menu cod. would definitely return when next in manchester.
