Just visited the Christmas market on Saturday afternoon. We caught the train to Manchester and they were running quite frequently. A short walk from the station brought us to the market. The market was very busy but had a great atmosphere- we didnt get there until 4 oclock. There were lots of different stalls selling interesting things and lots of places to get a bite to eat or have a drink.
We had seen a map of the market on the internet and just wish more of these maps had been posted around as we felt that we did not see all the stalls. We tried to follow the other market signposts but got lost.
We had been the week before to a Christmas market in another town, but found the Manchester one far better. Next year we will attend earlier and have a full day in Manchester.

me and the missus thoroughly enjoyed this tour. it was a glorious sunny day (yes, we do have them in manchester) and we could see for miles. until it was pointed out, i had never noticed what kind of figures, or numbers, were on the clock face!

I have been to the town hall before for functions and meetings and for some years its been hosting the continental market which had got bigger and bigger. This year is no exception, it was crowded as you almost had tiptoe through the stalls with people merry with the mulled wine stands and beer tents. Its the usual mix of overpriced arts and crafts and overpriced food ranging from chocolate, cheese, honey and meats.

Its gets you into the festive spirit though.
