How delightful that a high status venue like this put on an event such as this. Not only that but they then go on to provide a level of cuisine and service that is at least comparable to some of the finest restaurants I've ever dined in.

I'd never been there before and actually wasn't expecting anything special after reading some reviews. I was mistaken, this is one special venue and the food and service is of the highest standard.

Easily one of the best places to eat and drink in Manchester.

I love Australasia. It has a great atmosphere and it feels like a real treat when you go. It's always buzzing and has the right balance between style and comfort. There is something about descending through that little glass box .......

For a place with the 'it' factor - the staff are friendly and there is no hint of snobbery. They know their stuff and always happy to help. Who doesn't love ordering by Ipad ?

Food is fab. You are literally spoilt for choice. Dont miss the sushi, the black cod (not as good as Nobu but the best for miles in the North of England). The puddings are phenomenal - make sure you take time to order a souffle.

I will be back - time and time again.

It was our anniversary and we wanted something special ..... And we got it.
The food was wonderful , in fact we kept ordering more even though we were full ( just because it was presented so nicely ). Our waiter was helpful and funny. It was just a great experience from beginning to end . We will definitely be back !

Visited Australasia on recommendation for cocktails. We didn't eat here.

£17 for 2 mediocre cocktails, one of which was a cava cocktail that must have contained 30ml maximum (I know because I watched him pour it over the glassful of ice!), was in my opinion a total rip-off.

We didn't stay for a 2nd!

A fun experience let down by a ridiculously over complicated menu, constant thumping house music and disappointing food. Came here last night with my family of four for a 5.30 table having booked a month in advance. We were all genuinely excited, the place certainly has the wow factor. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgable and the wine menu ipad was a novelty. However the menu was testing to the exteme, with no explanation of what each dish is we were having to ask the waiter to describe every item.

The menu choice as you'd expect from the restuarant name has an asian theme, plenty of sushi, sashimi and other fish choices. However I would expect even the most experienced traveller to have struggled. The waiter encouraged us to try several of the starter dishes rather than opt for a starter and a choice from the limited main course menu. When the food arrived it was presented well and looked great, however it tasted poor (cold spinach anyone?) - again the cocktails were the same once you'd chosen from the bizarre menu choice it looked great but there was so much ice in the glass two sips and it was gone!

This restaurant is the hip place to go at the moment and as such attracts the crowd you would expect. It does try very hard to look and sound great but thumping house music while you're chomping through your pork belly thai curry is unwelcome. As we left the bar area was getting crowded with the movers and shakers, but we had had enough. We left without ordering dessert, relieved to get out. As I looked round at the other diners there was as similar resigned expression on their face.

The place is just too loud and busy for an intimate meal, and is best suited to groups of friends who want to look good in a fabulous surrounding and aren't too bothered whats put in front of them.
