This was the third attempt at this place and sadly the last. The aim is to cram as many people in as possible. It feels more like a fast food joint than a restaurant. The food selection seems to be decreasing and the quality is slipping. We felt like we were in a cattle market. The concept is great. Maybe charge a little more and increase the quality.

“A meal with a difference”

Have you wanted to go out for lunch and wanted something different, well you must try the Red Hot. It is classed as a Chinese Buffet - eat as much as you can. This is a buffet with a difference, there is Chinese, indian, Italian, Mexican and some Japanese foods. The sweets are to die for. This restaurant also has a cake business and are wonderful too. It is one of the nicest and smartest places I have eaten in. Dont miss out, try it for yourself. Lunch was £8.49 during the week.

“Fancy Buffet”

I had a meal here as I always fancy Buffet. I saw the same brand in Liverpool and so I ended up having my lunch here. If you love Chinese buffet you might not feel its value for money. However the food tasted good. I dont think so they accept student ID for any discounts.
It is a good option when you want to treat friends and you dont have a common cuisine. I wont say u can enjoy this buffet if you eat food solo... but a good one time visit

“Vile!”

Went to this place with a few friends last December as it was recommended to us. I enjoyed it as did my friends. Although I thought .. for the price I could have easily had a meal elsewhere..
Seeing as there was plenty of choice I recommended the place to my partner and brother. We all went last month, with them being men I'd assume they'd well get their moneys worth. When we arrived we were seated in to a practically empty restaurant.. strange I thought. As previously it had been the busy place in town!
We sat down and ordered drinks with a foreign girl, who clearly didn't understand us as she brought the wrong drinks to our table.. we then when up to get food. My partner is allergic to nuts and the majority of dishes contained nuts... Apparently you can request for special requirements,but no one seemed interested.. my partner ate some Indian chicken and rice and that was the extent of his meal.
I wasn't impressed with what I picked up either. The food had clearly been sitting around from the lunch rush.. I had beef in black pepper, it was terrible.. I didn't even know beef could be that hard! Literally impossible to chew. I also tried some chicken from the Indian section. It purely tasted of pineapple... How odd! The majority of dishes were rice noodles and curry.. not much of a "world" buffet.
Failing the hard and clumpy foods I went for the desserts...
The man in the pancake section had been stood around chatting with not one pancake on his display! I asked for one and with the slightest English he said 5 minutes.. I went to look around other desserts whilst I waited and to my horror there were flies absolutely everywhere!!!! I didn't touch a thing as I didn't want to be ill. There wasn't a great choice either.. mostly cheese cakes. I ended up having just a pancake (which were served under cooked.) And two tiny scoops of ice cream. When we had enough, we called over our waitress who we told about my partners allergies and that he was unable to select anything substantial from the buffet.. she just laughed and said he will pay full price! So we called over a manager who instantly cut his price by half.. without any questioning or hesitation.. like he was used to these type of complaints. Despite being disappointed we all payed up and left.
Whoever writes these amazing reviews clearly are the type who enjoy regular dining at McDonalds!

This place is possibly a health risk and is certainly not up to scratch so think twice before trying it.

“Not as promised”

I'd heard a lot about this buffet and looked forward to eating there. Went at lunchtime with work colleagues for a special occasion. Drinks in the bar were expensive and we waited over ten minutes for someone to actually come to the bar and serve - there were several groups waiting but the bar - which is downstairs and away from the main restaurant - was deserted. Got upstairs and started to look for food. Seemed that a number of stations had no food on them. The portions were so small - though you can get as many as you want - that you had to frequently go back for more. Unimpressed with the cooking - limited choice. Very unimpressed with the food. The atmosphere was none too great. There are far better Buffets in Manchester and I'd recommend TOPS across from Chorlton St Bus Staion. Will not visit Red Hot again.
