“Lovely City centre church”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

St Anns church is a lovely anglican church, in the heart of Manchester, lovely wood walled building, with pleasant stained glass, a oasis of peace in the heart of the City, somewhere to have a prayer, and a few moments peace and quiet, and enjoy the services at this lovely 3 hundred year old church.

“Judy Collins at St Ann's”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Visited this lovely old church last night to attend a Judy Collins concert. The acustics are fantastic as was Judy and it was a very appropriate place for her to sing, 'Amazing Grace' accompanied by the audience. The church members running the event were very friendly and welcoming a great night and I would be more than happy to see more concerts at this venue.

“A Little Gem.”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Visited this little gem of a church in the mistaken belief that it was St Marys Church which is tagged as "The Hidden Gem". I am pleased to say it was a mistake worth making. The church was founded in 1708 by Lady Ann Bland, she laid the foundation stone in 1709 and it was completed and consecrated by the Bishop of Chester in 1712. The original red sandstone was quarried in Collyhurst but because of the softness of the stone it was necessary to replace most of it with a harder wearing stone. Inside there are magnificent stained glass windows to the left & right of the main aisle and above the alter. The whole ambience of the church captures the peaceful mood created by this special building. I spoke to the Vicar who was willing to chat, only briefly, but was on the whole quite friendly. Beautiful architecture, Stained glass windows, Dark polished timbers and a friendly atmosphere made for a enjoyable visit.

“Beautiful stained glass”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

Popped in to this church whilst on a brief visit to Manchester. Loved the stained glass and the architecture in general. Not the oldest church on the block as only just over 300 years old but worth a visit if you in the area. Agree it seemed to have a special atmosphere and am sure it is a wonderful venue for concerts.
