old church in st annes square currently covered up due to building work. Went to services there, very unwelcoming and almost hostile people. If you are visiting the city and looking for a church service this might not be a good option.

This is an amazing old church with many ornate features, well worth a visit at Christmas time to hear the choir sing. I am not religious in any way but its well worth a visit.

So unassuming, St Ann's still looks as though it could be surrounded by fields and it is a real oasis of calm. I love the flower stall which is by the door - it seems to have been there forever, too.

St Ann is undergoing renovation work now-its 300th year celebration. This ancient church located at St Ann's square right next to the main shopping district of Manchester is a must-see. Though not large or grand, its peaceful & solemn. Its the second church built in Manchester after the Manchester Cathedral.

Looking around the church and the square outside you could almost hear the well-to-do carriages pulling up for a society wedding. The church is absolutely beautiful with its stained glass windows.
