My Dad who is 83 stayed at the Mitre Hotel on the 16th April 2013 as he was going to the MEN, has just returned home and cannot praise the staff enough, brilliant service and they could not do enough for him - wants me now to find another concert for him to go to and stay in this hotel. The breakfast, evening meal was superb, thankyou so much for making my Dad so welcome and happy

Room Tip: Dad had a single room and it was great

Just come back from an overnight stay in the Mitre Hotel
great location right over the road from the Arndale centre shopping centre
near food and drink places, the food in the hotel was lovely and a decent price.
we sat outside and the staff asked us if we wanted drinks and looked after us well.
the room was comfortable bit stuffy as we had to keep the window closed due to I think it was the air condition unit outside been very noisy every 15 min it turn on for 15min then off - so if you are a light sleeper take some ear plugs just in-case you get room 19 !!
don't expect a power shower either but hey it was hot water at least. receptionist very friendly and helpful.
with the hotel been in the centre there is no car park on site, we found one which was 5mins walk we parked for £6.00 for 24hrs it was on the one way system just near the train station. I cant remember the name of it but it was very handy.

Room Tip: not number 19 !!

I think the hotel is in a fantastic location and I would definitely stay here again :) staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. The rooms are good and I had a excellent nights sleep, we didn't have breakfast however this is only because we didn't have time........ If you are wanting a hotel that is close to MEN arena then this is a excellent hotel

Went today for lunch, no roast beef, no bitter beer !!! chicken came without stuffing, gravy like water . Very disappointed as meeting old friends for the afternoon. Had a good time anyway.
Staff were pleasant and attentive but drinks very over priced.

We just stayed for 3 nights at the Mitre which is situatated in an excellent location in the heart of the city. We were in room 32 which is very basic on the top floor.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
NO HOT WATER IN SHOWER MIXER (instant) and dirty bath room. The shower mixer was black with dirt and never cleaned since it was fixed.
There was no toilet paper the first day and not even a toilet paper holder and when ask for, they brought us 5 rolls and placed them on the flushing. The toilet moves when you sit on it.
When we raised the issue of no hot water at the reception they offer us complimentary breakfast for three days. This was English breakfast and was good but unfortunately no ham and cheese and on the last day only one kind of bread (whole meal slice).
Room without table desk and no lamp and however even cobwebs were hanged from the ceiling to the wall

Room Tip: Never recomend this hotel

Went for lunch whilst visiting Manchester.the bar area goes along way through with plenty of tables. Service was fast and friendly again. Children were welcome. Food was well presented and the fish was fab. We will visit again next time in Manchester. Price was what you expect for pub lunch.
