“Extremely easy and relaxing.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2013 via mobile

I have stayed in the Radisson Blu at Manchester Airport on a few occasions now, it isn't the cheapest hotel at the airport but because of its location it is by far the most straightforward. If you arrive by train, in particular, it is a few minutes walk along the elevated walkway from the station. You don't have to worry about taxis or shuttle buses.

The hotel itself is quietly understated. The public areas have had a recent makeover and are elegant and comfortable. The rooms are fully equipped, as you would expect, and very quiet and comfortable. There is no road are aircraft noise. The rooms could do with a a refresh to bring them up to the same quality as the public areas, although they are still very clean and comfortable.

It is ideal for an early morning flight and saves so much time and stress.

We stayed in room 727 the night before our flight, we saw that the hotel was really close for our long haul flight to the states and thought it would be ideal.

When we initially walked in to the hotel I was greeted with a warm mug of mulled wine, the reception looked modern and well kept and the staff were very helpful. This is where the good stopped.

We got in the lift to go to floor 7, to find that the hall carpets/doors looked worn and like a travel lodge! We entered our room and the furniture was worn and tired, obviously the reception and restaurant were done up and the rooms were still waiting.

The bathroom was a good size but the tiles and grout/sealant was black with mould around the shower/bath. Which was horrible.

The bed was very big which we thought was great until we lay down to get a good nights sleep only to find that the bed was that hard I felt like I was sleeping on the floor and to top if off the pillows were full of air and not filling resulting in putting your head on it and sinking to the mattress and meeting the "floor" which resulted in crooked necks and agitated my back somewhat for our long haul flight which was really annoying.

To top it off we decided to go to the lovely looking restaurant which looked great but once we sat down and looked at the menu which was mostly overpriced we expected high standards in the food. My partner had the lobster which was excellent but I had a cold over cooked steak with soggy fries. I also ordered a hot chocolate on the cold evening to find a child's portion of what I can only describe as a Luke warm chocolate which was very disappointing.

Overall this hotel says it all when you enter the reception but then it goes downhill.

The only positive is the location but we won't we booking this again and certainly will not recommend the hotel. We will certainly be warning all of our friends to beware!!!

We had a good syay here but mixed experience. Location ok for us as we can get train into Manchester rasy enough. Breakfast too expensive so went to terminal for breakfast. Rooms good size but some elements to need a refurb as not quiet a 4 star appearance. Staff friendly and helpful. But it is a airport hotel. We enjoyed our stay did not use the restaurant but bar good.

We stayed here because our northern lights flight was leaving from here. Booking and check in were good. Room had everything we needed but the bed was at quite a bizarre angle and therefore you couldn't actually sit up in bed to drink your coffee.
Mattress was nice and firm, pillows were terrible.
Breakfast at nearly £20 a head was unlikely as the cafés in the airport were so close!
An ok stay but I'll be requesting a room with a sensible bed next time!

Booked here for a 1 night stay as had a very early flight from Manchester airport the next morning. Initial impression was good and room appeared clean and tidy. Restaurant poor quality for the price and the staff were not very attentive. It was difficult to get hold of serving staff as they were stood in huddles chatting. Steak was not cooked as requested and sauce was forgotten. By the time we got the waiters attention our meals were half eaten. Onion rings were cold. Whilst eating there were several tables around us complaining about the food.
The room temperature was difficult to control and we were freezing at night. The pillows were a joke as they flattened down to nothing when you put your head on them. We were due to get up at 4am but gave up at 3am as we were so cold. The stay here was disappointing and ruined the start to our holiday.

The hotel is very conveniently located within the airport complex. The rooms are fine (not sure where the Scandinavian element was to the themed room but, hey). The real downside is the very sterile bar and the really poor selection of beer on draught. One lager available? Really? The price of bottled cider was extortionate at nearly £6. Stop ripping off the customers and offer a choice!

Stayed here for a quick trip to Manchester with friends. The hotel is connected to the airport and less than 5 minutes indoor walkway to the train station. The club floor room was amazing. Completely redecorated with glass shower and modern furnishings. The lounge had a great view of the airport and breakfast was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly, from checkin to dining, room attendants and concierge were all helpful and very polite. The gym was above and beyond the typical European hotel and provided a complete workout. The ease of access to the train made getting to downtown Manchester simple and efficient. Overall i couldn't have asked for a better experience.
