“Convenient airport hotel”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Stayed here again on park and fly basis ,always found it very convenient it's the only hotel that is right next to the airport .At the moment it is going through a major refurbishment program, this did not have any effect on us at all .Yes the rooms are looking a bit tired, but we found ours to be very comfortable and even though we looked out onto the runway no aircraft noise could be heard .They serve food all day in the bar and in the restaurant in the evening ,we ate in the restaurant and found the food to be good .

We had a room overlooking the parking lot and not the airport side, however not once did we hear planes while in our room. The room was spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. We had an early morning flight - so it was quite nice to simply walk through two walkways to get to the terminal in less than 10 minutes.
It was very easy access to and from the train station attached to the airport as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the parking lot as ours was very quiet.

Picked this hotel because it was the most expensive before our trip to New York and wanted to treat my husband (his 50th). Upgraded to a business class room but what a let down. The room was tired and not what I would call "business class". I'd be interested to see the Standard rooms in this case. We pulled out the tea and coffee tray to find it extremely dusty at the back. The rest of the room however was clean and bed was comfy. If I'd known beforehand that the hotel was undergoing renovations I wouldn't have booked. Restaurant was ok but over priced and the view was over the bins at the back of the hotel. Breakfast didn't start until 6am which was a push for us as we wanted to be in the terminal by 6.30. All in all a complete waste of money and a big disappointment. I'm sure it will improve after the renovations although it will be a long time before I stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't expect great things with a business class room

We stayed at the hotel on a stay and park basis. We found the room to be vary tired and disappointing as the furniture was badly marked. The carpet in the corridor was thread bare in places which you do not expect in this range of hotel. Other than location we do not think the hotel is worth the extra cost over other hotels in the area, It is also quite a long walk to terminal 3. We normally stay in one of the other hotels in the area and will do so in the future.

This is our "hotel of choice" when staying at Manchester Airport. When we got there the hotel was fully booked & the standard room we had reserved was only available as a twin (we had requested King). On our previous stays we have received a complimentary upgrade to an Executive twin. There are some critical reviews on here for the standard rooms so, combined with the ongoing refurbishment programme, I was a bit anxious as we went up to the room.
I was very pleasantly surprised when we entered the room. It was one of the Maritime themed rooms & the only evidence of wear / age was that the wooden floor was a bit worn near the desk / dressing table. The room itself was large, clean, well-equipped & comfortable. The dreaded twin beds were actually huge & pushed together. They were made up with duvets so the overall effect was a bit like being in a super king sized bed. A firm mattress ensured a good night's sleep. One niggle... it was very warm & another post suggests the a/c may not currently be working in these rooms. If this is important to you it might be worth seeking confirmation of the current position.
I don't know how the Radisson manage it but, as usual, once in the room there was absolutely no noise from either aeroplanes or other guests.
The room also had a fab view of the apron & partial view of the runways (although you had to look through some external scaffolding). I really enjoy this aspect of the Radisson & feel it adds to the whole holiday experience.
I have to say that the refurbishment programme didn't really impact on our experience much at all. The scaffolding & boards all over the place are ugly but you can still do everything you want / need to do.
We ate in the new restaurant (Collage? not sure if that is the right name). The new decor is quite atmospheric & stylish although I found the bench seating in the alcove seating areas quite uncomfortable for eating. We like to stick to simple food in hotel restaurants & the pizzas we had were tasty & reasonable value.
As usual, the service was always acceptable and, most of the time, exceptionally good.
All in all, as the title says, another good stay. It is still my "go-to" airport hotel & I look forward to my next stay there.

Stayed one night after late flight arrival. Undergoing renovations so temporary reception. Room standard chain hotel, so perfectly fine but for constantly flickering light over bath. Restaurant had stopped serving food and very limited options on room service menu after 10.30 pm, had worst pizza of my life that was not good value either. Breakfast however was included in my room rate and was very good. didn't have time to check out the pool/spa. Literally minutes walk from the train station and terminals so cannot fault location. And despite on site location excellent sound proofing - heard no plane noise.
