Yes - you have a choice of places to stay at Manchester Airport but sad to say their chief aim is to lighten your pockets of holiday cash before you fly out. The Radisson is no exception. Food and drink prices are such that we always choose to eat/drink less (self-defeating for the Hotel's profits - but maybe one day the message will get home to them). We booked a Business Room rate which included 8 days car parking and thankfully a buffet-style breakfast. The room is adequate no more no less. Viewing the TV gives you kneck-ache - if you are lucky enough to bag the one cumfy(?) chair. Perhaps you are meant to view it whilst lounging on the bed - but because it was the Italian style room, the is a ledge with two lamps secured to it behind the pillows which offers absolutely no support. But it IS an airport hotel and by implication customers are obviously expected to put up with all manner of things. But WHY oh WHY do we? Because they ALL synically have us over the proverbial barrel.
The staff here on the positive side are always polite and helpful and handing over and receiving the car is a seemless exercise. The fun comes trying to find your car in Car Par C. Why can't they number the parking bays???

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel before our flight to Orlando.

We had booked a business class room, and it was overlooking the runway. The view was excellent, yet there was no noise. The windows must be triple glazed (or better).

The room had all the amenities you would expect, and a very large (37" or larger) flat screen TV.

The room was spotless and very comfortable. The bed was set at an angle in the room and overlooked the runway, with very large windows.

We also ate in the Runway bar - The food was of excellent quality, but quite expensive.

We would certainly stay here again - Mainly due to the excellent location near the airport terminal, with no needs for transfers. Just a short way inside from the hotel to the airport terminal.

Rooms clean and tidy-perhaps a little faded. Corridor to room was stale and smelt unpleasant.
Restaurant was not cheap but the food was excellent. My husband had the best cote de boeuf he has eaten in many years.
Brilliant for airport as just walk along covered connecting walkways.

We were staying at the Radisson Blu Manchester Airport Hotel for 2 nights due to the proximity of the hotel to a wedding venue we were going to, therefore, we probably weren't typical of the usual guests who stay for one night before an onward journey at the start or end of a holiday.
Check-in was very slow, but courteous.
Room nice: we were on the 9th floor in one of the Italian themed rooms. All very clean, with the exception of slight mould on the bathroom tiles around the bath.
Staff very friendly and helpful - definitely one of the best things about staying here.
Food: really variable on the whole. My husband, parents and I ate in the restaurant one evening. My starter of tuna was minuscule and at £7.95 overpriced, although it tasted nice; I had to send my main back twice (the pork dish) opting to order something else altogether eventually (the sea bass, which was good); followed by a desert which was pretty inedible too: rock hard mini eccles cake and panna cotta containing so much gelatine that it was like eating rubber. Needless to say I left it, with the waitress knowing exactly what the problem with the dish was without needing an explanation. My advice is to be very careful what you order in the restaurant because inflated prices lead to higher expectations than reality delivers. Very short wine list. Breakfast varied: all the continental options of fruit / cold cuts / cheese / bread varieties good, but the cooked items were not particularly hot (heated plates would definitely help) and the scrambled eggs were indescribably bad (leaking white liquid?) Again the waiting staff at breakfast were fabulous. Very kind and helpful. We didn't eat in the Brasserie, so can't comment on the second eatery at the hotel.
Spa & Gym: I had one spa treatment that was lovely. Despite the treatment rooms being adjacent to the gym, once inside them you could completely forget about where you were and just relax. This sense of relaxation was definitely enhanced by Claire, the therapist who was great. The gym was busy and facilities looked good. My Dad thought that the pool, although on the smaller side, was still long enough for lap swimming and was peacefully quiet too.
Location: excellent for the airport terminals which are a short, covered walk away.
Overall, I probably would stay here again if I was going on holiday, but wouldn't opt to stay here just for a leisure break.

I have used this hotel before, however this time round we got a very good rate on an executive room on the 9th floor which also included breakfast.
We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening, just used the bar.The breakfast was self service for most of the items, both hot and cold options and plentiful. Tea,coffee was served to the table.
The room was fine with bed arranged in a novel diagonal position. i.e. not with the bedhead against a wall.
Is it necessary to book an executive room, I don't think so but if you get a good rate and the breakfast is important to you then do so,
