We stayed here 3 years ago and enjoyed the experience so we decided to use the facility again this year. It makes a nice start to your holiday. We use and the park and stay package which we feel is well worth the money. We park the car, stay the night and in the morning put yesterday's clothes in the car before handing over the car key to the front desk. Your car is then taken off site (not sure where to but there was about 10 extra miles on the clock when we came back). On return you walk from the terminal to the hotel and the front desk staff hand you back your car key and off you go, much quicker than using one of the car park buses and much warmer, especially on a cold February morning.

We haven't eaten in the hotel, always opting to have breakfast in the airport after check-in. We have had a drink at the bar and I believe the prices are broadly in line with other airport hotels.

Our room was very clean and contained everything we needed. Lovely fluffy towels and an assortment of useful toiletries, together with tea and coffee making facilities. There was also a mini bar which was rather expensive.

We did notice that the carpet in the corridors was very thread bare and could do with replacing. The bedroom we had did not have carpet, just a laminate style floor. The bedrooms are very well sound proofed and we heard neither planes or people moving about.

Greetings from Radisson Blu

Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Great to hear all the positive comments.

We will start on a £10m face lift in a few weeks so the carpet issue will be addressed.

Cheers.

Nice hotel, very conveniently located for the Airport and train station, it is as stated only a short walk from either place to the hotel, via a raised, covered walkway. Check-in was smooth and efficient; the room was pleasant and comfortable although the bed was a bit firm for me. I emailed in advance to request a room with a walk in shower as I am disabled and walk with a stick; this was arranged quickly with no trouble.

However, it is a very cold and impersonal place, not a hotel you’d want to spend extended time in, which I suppose is the whole point as it is a stopover venue for people flying to and from the UK. We didn’t sample the food but the prices seemed very high for what you were getting. We did however have a nightcap from the bar; be warned, bar prices are outrageous! One small glass bottle of diet Coke was £3.20 and a medium glass of red wine was £6.70. A small pot of tea for one cost £3.50, which is ridiculous for one teabag! But in an airport hotel you are a captive audience and they take full advantage of this.

One positive was the free wifi available in public areas (Hilton, take note!!); this was a very welcome facility to allow us to do last minute business emails etc just before flying out of the country. My partner was unable to sleep and went down to the lobby area at 5am to send some emails; a ‘grab and go’ breakfast was available to all guests departing before the restaurant opened for breakfast, so he was able to get a cup of coffee and a croissant, both of which were complimentary.

I would use this hotel again for the convenience of the location, but would make sure I packed my own snacks and drinks to avoid the rip-off prices.

Greetings from Radisson Blu

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I was glad to read the many positive comments but also noted the areas of your concern. At the end of March we will start on an exciting refurbishment program which will also address the relative aspect of impersonality. All public areas will be designed to meet the needs and expectations for each guest, regardless of how many they are, why they are there and how their day have been. Exclusively for you! Stay tuned for more info on this!

Many thanks again.

Stayed 22nd Feb. Booking was easy through booking .com and the price was £63 Breakfast not included. After dropping off rental car I got the airport bus (car hire bus) round to the Hotel. Reception staff polite and efficient. Large room with huge comfy bed. tea/coffee etc. very quiet location even although you are at the airport. It is long walk around to terminal 3 (mostly under cover) where I was flying from, not for someone with walking difficulties but you can arrange to get a car to pick you up if done in advance. I didn't eat here so can't comment on the food.
all in all nothing to complain about, would stay again if the price was right.

Food and drink a total rip off. Wifi absolute rubbish couldn't get a signal at all, and breakfast should start much earlier. On the up side it's very convenient for the airport, rooms are clean and comfortable and staff polite.

Greetings from Radisson Blu

Thanks for posting your review.

Sorry to hear about your wifi issue. We offer free 100mb throughout the hotel so can only apologise that something must obviously have gone wrong on that day. We did not receive any comments from other guests on that day so not sure what may have caused your poor connectivity.

Thank you again.

Stayed for a night between flights and it could not have been easier. Its a short walk from Terminal One where we landed to the hotel. Despite our being very early (11am), the check-in staff could not have been friendlier. They checked us in and allowed us to drop our gear in the room which was not ready yet. We had time to use the gym before heading into the city by train for an afternoon of sightseeing and an evening game at Old Trafford. We again got a friendly greeting upon our return that night (took a train back too - the train station is adjacent to the hotel and thus extremely convenient). Beds were very comfortable, wake up call was on-time, had breakfast in the lobby restaurant which was a Full English Breakfast buffet, included in the hotel room rate. Check out was very efficient and speedy.

For closeness to the airport this hotel is untouchable, the rooms are reasonable.
We requested a family room which consisted of 2 rooms with a connecting door and as far as space is concerned the rooms are brilliant, we were lucky enough to get an airport view which is fantastic.
The furniture in the rooms is very dated and we also had a badly cracked ceiling, this hotel could be so much better with very little outlay.
You can reach the main airport terminals within 5 minutes of leaving the hotel as it is directly linked via moving walkways.
For the convenience I would definitely stay here again but I think the price could be lower, we payed £155 for one night with breakfast and parking is £12 per night.

my wife and i have stayed at the raddison blu twice previously. on both occasionswe were given the type of room we wanted (eg airside), on our first visit i joined the clarison club. this is a free card that you can save points on for offers. our flight was early morning but we still had coffe and fruits and cereal on offer. the second time we stayed i used my clarion card to up grade to a buisness class room airside on the eigth floor, this cost me £20 for the two of us and included a full english breakfast normally £19 each, we have booked again for our next holiday but unfortunately have an early flight so must miss the full breakfast. book early enough and some good deals can be gained
