I stayed here for two nights on business. The location was very handy but my stay was not as expected.
My room was a good size and clean but I couldn't find the prices for the mini-bar anywhere in the room which suggests they won't be the cheapest of items. Surely these should be displayed in, or next to the mini bar.
Check -in was a nightmare. A long queue and then, at the end of it, someone who does not understand their job and simply works off a script that they have remembered parrot fashion. Any other requests were ignored or not understood.
The three lifts were always really busy with a queue so some well sign-posted stairs would be good for those of us who don't want to wait around for a lift.
The car park is another nightmare, always full, small spaces and very expensive when you come to pay your bill!
We used the Phileas Fogg restaurant the first evening. My chicken breast (nothing special) was approx £17 and then I had to pay extra for any veg which was around the £3.50 per portion. We waited just over an hour for our food to be served. Would I recommend eating here? No.
Breakfast the next morning was served in the same room. Service here was very poor again. No explanation of what to do, no-one to show you to a table and the staff with a very layed back attitude to customers. It was also far too busy for the number of people trying to get breakfast. I gave up on trying to make toast as the queue for the two toasters was too long.
On a more positive note the service in the business centre was brilliant and the 'Observatory' room we used was very good. Buffet and refreshments were top quality and arrived on time.
I did think the 25p per sheet charge for print-outs and photocopies is a little steep when you have hired a room, but this is one of the few hotels I use that give fast, high quality WiFi free of charge so well done for that.
All in all we would use the hotel again but the value for money is a concern and I wouldn't eat here. The service around reception in the restaurant should be investigated ASAP, could the business centre management not give you any tips?

We stayed here because it is convienient for Terminal 1, however that is the only reason. It's a shame because this chain is usually of a better standard for the price.

The positives include the fact that the room was clean, good quality bedding and robe and slippers? It was also nice and quiet.

The negatives included the price of drinks in the bar with poor service as it was very busy... here goes, nearly 20 pounds for two doubles... Good job it wasn't us that ordered them. Since when do these places think they are top city venues.... no they just have a captive audience.

The worst part was the breakfast it was lousy. This was going to be a bonus as our flight was at lunchtime however it was sadly lacking. It was a buffet and had a good choice but was poor. The hot food included the usual eggs, bacon, sausage etc but it was cold, undercooked and tasted foul and to the extent that I left the scrambled egg and didn't chance the meat as it could have gone badly wrong on a long flight!!! The staff were pleasant but come on Radisson do much better this was very very poor.

Radison have a great reputation for delivering excellent Park and Fly and this is no different.

Easy to park close to the hotel and in no time at all you are at the airport check in desk so ideal for those early morning flights. Helpful staff and bright and cheery even @5am when I checked out.

I stayed here for business last night. I arrived at 9pm and checked in, I wasn't advised about when or where breakfast was or what time check out was! When asked if I'd like to swipe my credit card for any purchases I replied that I didn't own a credit card the man looked positively aghast! Perhaps because I didn't have a credit card I didn't deserve to know where breakfast was!?
My room and bed were comfortable and there was plenty of useful things in the room, an iron, ironing board, hairdryer and a safe all without request. The bathroom had good freebies and a deep bath, the only problem was as you drained the tub the water flowed under the loo where there was a visible grating and if I let it drain water was coming up through the grating and I had to wait in the bath controlling the flow with my foot to avoid a flood!
The tv was big and had loads of channels but I didn't look at any of the movie channels.
The carpet in the corridors was incredibly tired with areas of wear and actual holes that could result in a tripping hazard if left to go any further.
The breakfast was tasty and the staff very helpful. The conference facilities were good and the food provided a little odd but tasty enough.
Despite it being right at the airport there was NO NOISE at all!! Its a 2minute walk from the train station which is ideal.
If you want a laugh look at the room service costs a coke was £4.75 with a £3.50 tray charge! Yikes!!

Greetings from Radisson Blu

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review.

I was happy to read of the many complimentary observations but of course did not fail to note all of the issues you experienced.

Terribly sorry to learn how you were made to feel upon your arrival. A genuine and welcoming greeting is very important to us, which include the basic services of pointing out where the various facilities are.

There must have been a mistake re your coke which was served through room service. Very sorry about that.

Next month we will start on a refurbishment program which will include the rooms, restaurant & bars and all public areas. Very exciting!

Hope to welcome you back soon.

Cheers.

Stayed at this hotel on two occasions. Got upgraded the first time we stayed which was much appreciated as our flight landed at 12:30am.

Rooms are clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff, nothing bad to say about the hotel at all! Really good value for money, booked through laterooms and it cost under £70!

The Phileas Fogg restaurant is a little overpriced, but the food is good so I guess you get what you pay for. But very limited menu.

Would stay at this hotel again!

For Manchester airport, it's one of the nicest hotels but your pay the price for it too, both in the room rate and the bar and restaurant bill. The rooms are fine with interesting themes but many are starting to look a little worn and could do with sprucing up. The bar and restaurant are again both pleasant places in their style and decor but certainly the bar is far, far too small for the size of hotel.
Given the choice of hotels that serve Manchester I'd have probably given this place just a 2 star rating but for it's one selling point that has had me stay here on a number of occasions and that is it is "in" the airport - when you have an early flight the ability to walk straight out of the front of the hotel on to the moving walkway to the terminal building with out having to faff about with transfer buses is great. It may only save ½ an hour at most, but when you are having to check in before 6am, for me every minute of sleep counts!

Airport hotels are usually just practical and functional.
This hotel was better than that! Check-in was efficient yet friendly. The concierge was helpful with all of our luggage logistics. The room was clean and very comfortable. The price was great!
There are enough restaurant and bar options to suit everyone and it was literally just a 2 minute walk into T2 of the airport. A great end to our stay in the UK.
