“Guilty of overpricing”

TOTALLY overpriced rubbish.

I have just returned from a very disappointing stay in the Jurys Inn, Manchester. I stayed for one night, sharing with two girl friends I don't see often for a much-anticipated weekend away. The weekend and company were great, but we all came away feeling totally ripped off by the standard of the accommodation considering we paid £210 including breakfast. The room was small (and admittedly clean) and slightly dated feeling, but despite being booked as a triple, only two sets of towels, cups and glasses were provided. The pillows were the thinnest I have ever encountered and even with the extra ones provided, we were stuck with five pillows of blanket thickness between us.

NO extras were offered by way of toilettries, fridge in the room etc. The lighting was appalling, meaning the area by the 'wardrobe' (open rail) was practically pitch black and putting on make-up impossible. Breakfast was adequate at best, but with the greatest degree of self-service possible and the atmosphere of a motorway cafe. The bar was similarly grim in the evening when we ventured down for a nightcap - and left rapidly.

Some of the hotel guests were noisy in the early hours and we were greeted by a small pool of vomit just outside the lift door at noon on our arrival on our floor.

ALL of the above (bar the vomit) would be forgivable in a Travelodge or similar, but to pay over £200 for the privilage was extortion. Tellingly no-one asked if we'd a pleasant stay when we checked out, almost as though the staff were embarrassed by their offering.

Don't go.

This is a really comfortable hotel in central Manchester. Very professional staff at reception, room very clean, and very good showel gel and shampoo! . I'm a very light sleeer and seeing a few hen parties around the hotel, did't expect to get much sleep! but it was the opposite: had really great nights sleep. Will definitely go back

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Very convenient for central Manchester. On arrival the check in staff were very helpful. If there were ever more than about 2 people in the queue another person ran out to assist from the back office. So it was a very nice first impression.

The beds were extremely comfortable and quite substantial in size. The rooms were an excellent size, although the bathroom was slightly on the small side. The hotel wasn't noisy, you couldn't hear people in the room next door nor in the corrdior. There was a good room service menu available and eating and drinking facilities in the hotel.

I only booked the hotel the day before I stayed there and for £65 (and breakfast included) I thought it was a fantastic deal.

When next in Manchester I'd happily stay here again due to cleanliness, location and staff.

I stayed here recently for a conference at Manchester Central, which is across the road - so it's very handily located for events there. It's also quite central city-wise with the main shopping area about a 10 minute walk away - as is Oxford Rd train station.

The rooms I've stayed in here have varied in size, but have always been clean and well-appointed, and this time was no exception. They're clean and the beds are comfortable. This time though, I had a room at the back of the hotel, and there was noise from the streets outside pretty much all night long - which isn't good for sleeping unfortunately! The air con and heating are also quite noisy and hard to turn off and on.

The breakfast was an ok buffet; replenished often and with a good selection of both continental and cooked breakfast items.

All in all, it's a good value hotel, well-located, but I had some of the worst-quality sleep I've had in ages here unfortunately - despite the comfy bed!

The little pub on the corner of Bridge Street is a good place for a nightcap to help though, with the best whisky menu I've seen for some time!

Stayed here 2 nights 15 & 16 Oct. Found the room to be in very good order. Bathroom and bedroom very well presented with everything clean & tidy. Flat screen tv, hospitality tray, comfy bed with extra pillows if needed. Maid service tidied room, replaced towels and replenished hospitality tray during our stay. Room was on 4th floor with view over canal. Can't fault this hotel, it fulfilled our expectations. Reception staff were very friendly & helpful as were the bar staff. There are lots of bars & clubs in the vicinity as well as being close to the Gmex centre & the Bridgewater Hall, and approximately 15 mins walk to main shopping area.
I would definately stay here again. This review is based on my own personal experience during our stay here.

I came here with two of my best buddies in September this year and we had a great time. The rooms are very cheap and it is one of the few affordable places to stay in Manchester where they will accommodate three guests in a room. That said, on both days of our stay we had to request extra towels and tea/coffee making facilities as we had only been provided with enough for two people... and when the maid brough the stuff up she had a huge plastic bag full of teabags and sugars and a mountain of towels so we were all very pleased.

The service is great, the rooms are clean and well proportioned and if you have a sense of the Geography of Manchetser you'll know it's in a good position for Deansgate Locks and Oxford Road/ Portland Street etc. The Comedy Store is just around the corner and I'd recommed that to anybody who loves to laugh.

We all slept well but the air-con was very noisy and we couldn't adjust it. Everything else, however, was brilliant. And such good value!

Enjoyed our over night stay. Room good size and beds comfortable. We had drinks in the bar but the service was rather slow. We also ate there and the food was very good. For breakfast we had a cooked english, which was adequate. The hotel is not far from shops and nightlife. The canels are also nearby, which are picturesque and has bars there.
