This place is great to watch live theatre. There are no bad seats and the productions are excellent. Coffee of drinks in the exchange are good value.

I just love visiting this theatre and watching a superb production in the round.

As always, a lovely atmosphere as a diverse mix of people come together for an evening of brilliant entertainment in wonderful surroundings.

It’s been too long since my last visit (I won’t make that mistake again) and enjoyed just as much as I always have.

The performance itself (Death of a Salesman) was superb, with some excellent acting - really enjoyed this classic (and taking my daughter for her first theatre experience).

My only issues are the uncomfortable seats in the second tier (the very back row) and the queues at the bar - hoped they might have solved them by now!

Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester
Located in ST. Annes Square
This is a good place to visit. It is an impressive domed building with round central stage and tiered seating, It also has café area for relaxing drink and snack. Regards Gary Saunders

We love coming here either to the theatre or just to eat. A fabulous building inside and out retaining a lot of its original features and character.

A great location in a wonderful building. We saw Death of a Salesman and had fantastic seats with great sightlines. Tip: for reasonable prices consider attending the Preview Performances

Great performance by all the cast.
Always impressed by the plays put on here.
Proximity to the stage adds to the experience. When you visit, take time to explore the theatre. The architecture is stunning and worth closer inspection.

This place was used to be stock exchange but it’s a theatre now.
Great place to have a cup of tea.
Look around about the old days.
Don’t miss their decoration of the last business day on the very top of the wall.

Food is so so.

The Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester is the largest theatre in the round in the Uk.
Built in 1976 inside The Corn Exchange in StAnne’s Square in Manchester.
The theatre it self was made from 150 tons of steel derived from an oil rig.
The theatre company has a very high standard of plays including Shakespearean classics and more modern pieces.
I have seen plays in this theatre for 40 years and have never been disappointed.

I have mobility problems and was dropped off with my friends at the main original entrance where there was a very steep flight of stairs. We ascertained that the entrance with a lift was quite a long way away, so one of my friends got a wheelchair to take me to the service lift. The wheelchair had flat tires! So, terribly difficult beginning.
Please learn from this, and make sure you get dropped off at the right entrance if you have mobility problems.
The Theatre is being refurbished, so the main stage is in a strange structure inside the theatre itself. That is pretty comfortable and accessible.
The play, Queen Margaret, was really well done in a theatre in the round.
