We've also played a key part in Manchester's rich musical heritage with historic shows by local bands Take That, Oasis, Elbow, New Order, James, Happy Mondays, The Charlatans, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, M People, Doves, The Inspiral Carpets, The Verve, Simply Red and The Courteeners. Attracting over one million visitors each year, the 21,000 capacity Arena is a former winner of the industry's prestigious International Venue of the Year award.

“Slick transport system”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

A slighted dated arena but with amazing transport links.

Victoria Station is right beside it as is the multi-storey NCP car park.

The show wasn't bad either so all in all, a pretty good evening.

“OK as a venue but watch the parking and concessions”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

I've been to the MEN Arena a couple of times now once to see Nickelback and most recently to see Meatloaf.

I was amazed that the concessions selling event souvenirs charged an extra 5% on top of the displayed prices if you paid by debit or credit card - I'm not sure how this is justified as usually traders are only charged a few pence for a debit card and certainly not £5 for a £100 purchase.

The other thing to watch out for is that at the end of the event you might be stuck in the carpark attached to the venue for at least 45 minutes if you are not one of the first to get to your car. This can take the shine off the event a little.

I've seen a few shows here over the years but most recently Rihanna in June.
Luckily I was staying over as nearby parking was pretty pricey.
Despite being up in the heavens there wasn't a bad view to be had and the sound carried great.
The one downside would have to be the fake merchandise sellers on the way out, literally crammed at the foot of the outside stairs, it's a pain to get by them and no-one seems interested in moving them on so people can get home.

“The View Experience with NO view!!”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

Went to the Rhianna concert & as a treat booked The View experience expecting views of the whole Arena, the buzz, excitement of people arriving onto the stadium, seeing the warm up act, having access the the bar from the seats. Able to nip back in during the concert rather than queue for drinks & toilet access. NOT the case! The View was a picture of a Manchester scene on the wall, also a view of people queuing for drinks in the concourse?!! Not really an experience? The allocated seats were great seats on the lower tier near the stage so this is the main selling point of The View Experience and the only plus point for us really. The air con didn't appear to be on, was awfully hot and lots of sweaty people. All in all Rhianna was simply amazing, not sure I would pay View prices again though. Maybe opt for a box if you would like a little VIP treatment.

“Comedy & Music”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

We have attended both comedy ( Lee Evans ) and music ( Greenday & Nickleback ) events . Plenty of places nearby to pass time if you are a bit early and easy access from the station. Lots of event parking but it will cost you for so called secure parking..... Arena is a good size and staff are well organised on getting you in and seated not so well when it comes to getting everyone out
Prices for drinks and snacks are extortionate as with most of these venues
But all events thoroughly enjoyed :-)
