“Good Airport Hotel”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Good hotel - a bit pricey. Very convenient. Rediculous that they want about $25.00 for internet access (as all Hilton's do). Restaraunt is OK. Breakfast was included and very good. Staff was very helpful.

79 seconds away from terminal with a shuttle bus (counted with a stopper watch). Helpful staff.
Specious and much comfortable room. Rich and fresh breakfast menu.
Would certainly visit again as it is priced correctly as well.

Stayed for 1 night with parking for duration of holiday. First room smelt of stale cigarette smoke. Was given a new room which smelt better so was fine (for the cost you don't expect to be given a poor room in the first place). When we arrived back at Manchester airport it took them 30 mins to come and pick us up in a mini bus (they do warn in the details to allow 30mins) but come on a hotel chain as big as this can't afford a couple of mini busses. We would have been better off staying at a premier inn which from my experience are always clean and comfortable and as for being further away from the airport it wouldn't have made any difference as it took the hilton 30 mins to arrive anyway. We were very disappointed.

The hotel wasn’t full to any extent, I could tell by being offered for 5GBP supplement an upgrade to a superior room!!, my standard room with a full size bath and double bed was more than adequate for one.
I’d stayed here on business a few years ago and currently the hotel is undergoing a series of refreshes, the restaurant ‘Masons’ has already benefited form this makeover. However what was a traditional menu, has now been replaced by a mainly Italian based menu, pizza and pasta plus 5 or 6 steaks, a basic pizza at GBP15, isn’t that basic, I selected a shallot and goats cheese pizza with rocket. The pizza oven is in view, surrounded by rustic logs set into the wall, looked good, but when the meal arrived it was more like a 300mm round of cheese on toast with a few separated halves of soft pickled onions, not shallots to me. My main criticism was the edge to egged covering of yellow cheese with only a few morsels of goats cheese, id be happy to have a few area of tomato sauce base visible, rather than the yellow discus that was served.
The room also had benefited from a decorator brush, but the picture on the flat screen TV was very grainy and overtime the synch between lips and sound grew to an unwatchable level

Had a very early morning departure so we elected to stay what was left of the night at the Hilton. Location and access to T1/T3 are easy with complimentary. Left car with T1 multistorey as better deal rather than using the hotel parking. We took £5 " upgrade" at the Hilton which was a mistake as nothing really was upgraded. The big positives were the staff - rarely have I met group so well-motivted. Took the bar snacks and drinks rather than the restaurant which we think was certainly a great choice. Kept choosing the starters! only drawback was housekeeping as the promised crisps as part of the upgrade were found as crumbs under the bed! early morning transport to T1 was ideal.

Room Tip: Don't bother with the upgrade. If you do then make the promised items are there ours wasnt.

Check in and airport taxis very efficient if you can find the phone in the terminal on return! (that was my fault, a bit tired I think!). We would never consider getting a flight without staying over the night before and leaving our car. We have been so happy with the hilton that we daren't venture anywhere else.
