We stayed in Twin Room. View out of the front of the hotel.
Booking was easy, and we got a confirmation email, which is always reassuring.
The location is brilliant, it is slap bang in the centre of Manchester.
But that’s about anything positive I can say about it.
The room was shabby, the bedside lamps bulbs where burning holes into the lampshades where they where just hanging off the fittings. [see photos] The side table drawer door was missing. The room was in need of an extensive clean. The bed linen and towels where clean though. Thankfully.
We where woken up at 4am by what sounded like a 3 or 4 lads smashing the room next to us. Doors where slamming, the walls pounding with blows from what ever they where throwing around in their room. I felt scared. No one appeared to come a deal with it.
Outside the hotel you feel you don't want to hang around, some dodgy characters hang about. And the reception desk is further in the hotel, you could actually walk in and get in the lift and not be seen by the receptionist. Staff where pleasant. But..
It could be a great hotel.. but it needs a massive renovation. MASSIVE.
For the price you are better off staying somewhere else. I've been to Manchester before so I know, only a short distance (5-10mins walking) from this hotel you will find yourself a much better, cleaner, better kept, modern place to stay.
Avoid it. I did warn you.
