Great location on Deansgate so handy for lots of bars and restaurants as well as the M.E.N. Arena , extremely friendly staff and massive room, booked a twin and had two queen beds and a sitting area with sofa and two chairs as well as a desk and really big bathroom, spotlessly clean, had breakfast delivered to the room for no extra charge and had possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!

Stayed here for 1 night. Huge room with 2 double beds and separate sitting area. Comfy bed and didn't hear any noise from the the busy street outside. Some of the furnishings are a little worn but thats always going to happen. So as long as its clean.

Would definitely stay here again

We stayed at the hotel on business in Manchester for 3 days.

Location: The hotel is in a great location and easy access to nice restaurants and shopping in the Manchester area. Cabs are also very easy to come by, so overall, this isn't a big issue.

Rooms: The business rooms are massive! We had 2 beds, a sitting area, a massive bathroom and your typical furniture. One huge downside are the old TVs!! What are you doing? Hotels that are 4* should not have a big hunk of junk TV, especially one still inserted into a cupboard! It looks ugly and unprofessional! Get up to the times!
Otherwise, beds are nice and comfy, and tea/coffee making equipment included.

Extras: We had 3 individuals working in the room, and each person needed to get a separate internet connection at £20 for 24 hours! That is ridiculous and unacceptable if you're attracting business guests.
Car Parking is also expensive in the "private" car park at £18 a night!

Service: When we arrived we found that someone had cancelled our booking without informing us, even though we were there on business. Luckily it was quiet so they found us a room right away! Otherwise, the staff were friendly.

Decor: Very dated, and not what is expected of a Marriott owned hotel.

Price and value: It cost over £100 a night, which is worth it for the room. But with the extras paid, it started to become questionable as to whether it was value for money.

Nice clean hotel but our room was really cold on arrival. the heat had been left off. However the staff couldn't do enough to please us when we informed them. The staff of this hotel were so pleasant and friendly. Perfect location for shopping in the city. Would stay again.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room then ask for an odd room number.

We stayed in the hotel for one night, Feb 12. The bathroom ceiling was damp due to a leaking A/C unit, the last guest's used bar of soap was still in the soap holder (shows nobody clean's or checks the rooms properly. moved to another room slighly better but the picture on the wall was falling of. In the lounge bar area the seating is worn out, the arm rests on the couches are thread bare and the drinks expensive.

The hotel was fine and met my basic needs for business travel. Good location close to shopping and a variety of restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was pretty good and the breakfast buffet was good and convenient.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed for 2 nights for a weekend break. The staff at reception on arrival were friendly and helpful and provided a map and a little bit of info about what's what in the centre of Manchester. The room attendant on our floor very pleasant and helped us with our key and spoke to us when we saw him again the next day. The room was large and clean with a massive bed and a nice view of the city. It's not the most up to date hotel, but I really liked it. The only thing that is surprising about a 4 star hotel is that the television is so outdated! Even Travelodge hotels at £20 a night have better tellys than that. But for me, that's a very small thing, as i'm was not there to watch the telly. The breakfast was so good. A self service buffet with hot food, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries etc....everything you could wish for. The food was fresh and well cooked. We only had one drink in the bar. It was nice, but quite pricey which I wasn't surprised with it being a city centre hotel, but also thought perhaps a resident rate would be nice, it's not like we were a captive audience, there are plenty of bars all around.
In terms of location, it was perfect for us. Right in the centre with plenty of restraunts and bars. It was a good walk from Piccadilly, although not a problem at all for us - we enjoyed having a look as we walked through the town - perhaps older people would find it a bit far from the station, but we were told there is a free bus around the town, so really handy.
It also wasn't far to walk to the canals and have a walk around there and we also visited the Museum of Science and Industry as well as having drinks at Cloud 23 in the Hilton, book ahead if you don't want to wait in a queue! And it's definitely not for the faint hearted if you get a table right next to the window!!
All in all, I found the Renaissance to be a really lovely hotel.
