Located in the centre of the city this is a large hotel with great big rooms.

A twin is two doubles. Sofa and desk.
Very reasonable rates as well.

I didn't have breakfast so could not comment on that I'm afraid.

Stayed here with my mum and sister as we where going to The Lowry Theater to see The King and I on The saturday night. The hotel is so central you take a step out of the door and you are on deansgate.
We where greated by lovely polite and smiling staff who couldnt do enough for you. The room had two double beds with lovely sluffy quilt and pillows it was .The decorws little dated abd the TV was out of the ark but it had everything that you needed for the weekend.
The breakfast was lovely nice and hot and plenty of choice. Again, waiter/esses where attentive and jolly.
Bar/dining room had a nice atmosphere to it, even at 12.30 am.
Would stay here again as we only paid £289 for the 3 of us B & B. BARGAIN....

Just spent two nights as part of a group of 9 couples celebrating a friends 60th birthday and we all have commented on how great the staff were. As a group we have previously stayed in hotels in Edinburgh, Dublin and York and none can match this stay.
Star award has to go to our waiter, Dante who was exceptionally helpful, hardworking and entertaining. Others deserving a mention are another waiter William, Anthony the concierge and all the barstaff. The management should be very proud of their staff.
We ate in the hotel on our first night and couldnt fault the service or the food. Yes, the rooms are tired, but they were clean, very comfortable and much larger than an average hotel room. The location is central, but the noise from outside is minimal.
We wouldnt hesitate in recommending this hotel to others or staying here again if we return to Manchester in the future.

Yes it is a good location and yes the staff are helpful but it is not up to Renaissance standards. The rooms are in need of a renovation. Please its 2012, don't give me a 19 inch TV when most Marriots have flat screens. Not even an executive lounge. The hotel is even ugly on the outside.

Stayed here just for the 1 night, rooms are extremely large for a city centre hotel with a seperate seating area and large bathroom. Very quiet and cannot hear the city noise. We had a room to the back of the hotel which overlooked the canals which was nice.
Staff were great, especially the concierge, opened the doors and always said hello.
Would stay here again next time I'm in Manchester for the night.
The location is great too, just a few minutes walk from the arndale centre and a short taxi ride to canal street area and some of the nightlife which was about £4 in a taxi (blackcab).

Room Tip: Back facing rooms are quieter as they face the canals rather than the main street.
