Just returned from a 1 night stay with 7 friends at this city centre hotel.
- Location is perfect situated just off Deansgate easy access to shops, clubs and pubs. No outside noise from fully insulated rooms.
- Rooms had 2 x double beds and a large seating area complete with sofa and chair. Bathrooms are a little dated but are very clean, plenty of towels with tea and coffee facilities.
- Breakfast, which was included in the price was delivered to our room for a £2 tray charger. Excellent value for money and delivered on time.
- Car parking. There is a car park for sole use of the hotel. DO NOT enter the the NCP car park that is next door on Blackfriars st. Pull outside the hotel in the small layby. The concierge will park your car free of charge in the hotel secure car park. On check out once again the front desk came up trumps by taking our luggage to the car to we could shop.
Front Desk - Polite helpful people who could not do enough to make your stay a good one.
Would I return? Without hesitation!

Got this on priceline. Really pleased with the large room, two very comfortable double beds and a roomy seating area. Often spend several nights a month in hotels of all classes and this is one of my favourite rooms in a while.

Great location too.

We stayed here over the Aug Bank Holiday (which was Mardi Gras in Manchester) so it was very busy. In spite of this, the staff were fantastic. We had an apology for having to wait a whole 5 mins to check in and the guy checking off who'd had brekky was sooooooo pleasant.

The reception area is fairly impressive, though this is not carried through to the rooms. Although clean and tidy, the rooms are in much need of an overhaul. The Renaissance cannot afford to rest on it's reputation if it is to compete with the many hotels in Manc. Having said that, the bed was extemely comfy!

The breakfast was fantastic! It's a "help yourself" buffet and even there, the staff were only too willing to help. (the scambled eggs were amazing - sooooo creamy)

There is the use of a pool and gym, though it's a 5 min walk round the corner - well worth the effort as there is also a sauna and steam room.

One more negative is the car park charge - extortionate. We used the Travelodge 24 hour carpark down the same road - less than half the price and it's open to the general public.

All in all, a very pleasant stay and one we would be repeating.

We were over from Ireland and booked into this hotel for the bank hol wknd in August. We went to Manchester for a shopping trip and this hotel didn't disappoint. It was SO central and we couldn't have asked for a better location. We were able to walk to the Arndale shopping centre which was across the road, drop our bags back, and go back for more!! It was also ideal for going out at night and we didn't have to get any taxi's. The room itself was very big and the beds were very, very comfortable. We would also like to mention Gerard, the concierge, who couldn't have been more helpful and is a credit to the marriot group. This is the place to stay and we will be back again on our next trip to Manchester!

I took my mother for the meal for two living social deal on Sat 27th and was hugely disapionted. The restaurant mamger recommeded the chefs special describing it a brazes chicken with potatoes & fresh vef with a dew, it sounded delicouse but when it came out i though it was a joke there was a tiny crispy thigh next to two green bean and the smallest chicken drum i've ever seen resting on a slice of potatoe, the dew was in jars. I got a bite out of each chicken and that was it, i was livid and starving. i was that upset i didn't drink my wine and left.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights for a hen party. Arrived at the hotel at 12pm, hours prior to check in time. The rooms weren't available but they were happy for us to leave our luggage with them, they also said that they hoped that the rooms would be ready for us to check in early. Came back at 1:45pm and at first the male indicated that our rooms were ready, however a female in reception told us rather blatantly that check in was at 3pm and we would have to wait. We sat at the bar for the next hour or so and our room keys were given to us at 2:50pm. Don't expect to check in early. Other than that poor begining, the hotel was perfect. The rooms were really spacious and clean. The hotel is very central, more or less opposite the Arndale shopping centre. Bar the female at reception all other members were staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was more comfortable than any bed I've stayed in, I could have stayed there all day. Had an amazing sleep and wanted to bring the bed back home! Despite the central location, hotel was peaceful and quiet. Would visit this hotel again next time I'm visiting Manchester.
