This is the 2nd time i have stayed at the westlynne hotel in crumpsall, it is a great family run B&B style hotel. Me and my friend go to manchester to watch united and it is very hard and expensive to find a twin room for the night so we ended up staying here again.

We were given the basement room as it was the only twin available. I had been allocated another room but as i had no credit card to guarantee the booking it was released. However the basement room was fine, very spacious with the usual TV and bathroom just outside the door. We were only charged £40 for this room and we had no problems what so ever

The beds are very comfy and breakfast is included (full english if you want it)

The only problem this time was the Local tram line undergoing maintenance so we had to get a replacement bus (get the 400 not the x busses as they do not go near the hotel)

All in all a perfect stay and we will be returning here for our next visit to Manchester!

This is a great B&B.
Rooms are big and clean. Found the staff very friendly.

Rang them direct to book a double room and paid 50 quid.

A good base if your are catching a show at the MEN arena.
There is a train station down the road from the hotel, which will take you straight to the MEN. A taxi to the arena from the hotel cost us approx 10 quid.

The breakfast in the morning was fantastic.
There is also heaps of free on-site parking.

Stayed here one night. Was given a 3 bedded room but asked to change to a double which they gave us. Rooms are clean and staff are very helpful. Front of hotel is pretty noisy from the busy main road but didnt stop us sleeping.
Breakfast was great ......a full english served to your table.
No hair dryers/shampoos or bath products in bathroom but for the price very good value

Booked a room for two nights and found the staff to be lovely and accommodating, very pleasant. Breakfast was nice and filling but only lasted until 9am (!), so had to get up quite early considering it was a relaxing break.

Overall the room was really basic and had half-wallpapered walls with light fittings in exactly the right place to hit your head with over the bed. Not really a three star as advertised, but a pleasant enough B&B.

Beware - toiletries are not provided!

I needed a hotel to stay on Friday 2nd February so I could get some rest after seeing a theatre show in Manchester Central that same night. I found the West Lynne in the phone book on the Friday and as they had availability went to stay there.

The hotel is situated in the area of Crumpsall which is one of the most quiet, leafy areas in Manchester. It has takeaways, restaurants and numerous off-licences a very short walk away, as well as the centre of Manchester being a 5 minute bus journey or 2 minute drive away. The area is well served by bus and the cities tram network which I used during my stay. The buses run until the early hours which I found excellent. The view from my window was lovely, overlooking a nice field and trees.

Upon entering the hotel the hallway and stairs are decorated lovely. I was in room 28 which for me, a single occupant, was very spacious indeed! I had a double bed which was the snuggliest bed in the world! I have never slept so well in all my life! I thought with it being weekend and the hotel being so close to the city centre that my fellow guests would be making noise all night but no, even as a light sleeper, I wasn't disturbed once and upon meeting my fellow guests in the dining room the next day I realised why - there was one single man staying, a single lady probably there on business and an elderly couple.

My room was tastefully decorated with en-suite facilities and a desk. There was a colour tv and tea making facilities which were great! The bathroom included a bath, shower and toilet. There were 2 mirrors in the room, one being an almost full size one. There was a tall storage unit and an open wardrobe which was great. There was a direct dial telephone also in the room. The room was light and airy and the heating was on which warmed the room up nicely on such a freezing day!

Breakfast the next morning consisted of cereal, apple juice, orange juice, followed by a huge English breakfast with unlimited toast, tea, coffee and preservatives. It was delicious! There was also boiled eggs and toast, beans on toast and scrambled eggs on toast on the menu.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the West Lynne and i'm planning to stay again in the future. The staff are all so welcoming and nice, they can't do enough for their guests and for £35 per night it's brilliant!
