“Perfect for night”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

We stayed at the hotel for one night a Friday night, we were going to see Wicked at the Manchester Theatre, after reading reviews I must admit we did try to cancel the hotel and get our money back but we would have lost the money, we decided because it was just me and my husband we would still go.

When we got there we were greeted by a large queue, it took 45 minutes for us to get to the front, so this was not a great start, when we reached the front the lady who dealt with us was very polite.

We went to out room which was 417 no windows (which I was dreading) we turned on the light expecting a dump which was dirty but instead we found a clean and tidy room, the furniture and TV are quite dated but well looked after, the bed and linen was clean, I then checked out the bathroom and was happily surprise, it was clean tidy and perfect for our one night stay.

During the night we heard no noise maybe a few doors closing etc but was worried with all the people staying it would be quite rowdy, I think we benefited from no windows so we did not have noise from outside as it was a central location.

Don't get me wrong it was not the Ritz, it all needed a good revamp but it was all we needed for a nights stay and would go back, we paid £50 for the two of us which included breakfast what more do you want for that price.

Room Tip: I would go for a room with no windows, judging by the location you would not have a great view even...

Very happy It was double booked ! Would hate to have stayed. On arrival like 40 people were waiting for taxis to be shipped to some other hotel as it was double booked . Turns out that was full too .Had to spend hours walking around Manchester in the rain trying to find a place for the night . Manager was hiding away . Horrible !

I had the misfortune to visit Sashas last Friday for a private event in one of their function rooms.

When we arrived, no one could tell us where the event was taking place. On finding the room, we had to ask for the bar to be opened. There was no access to music, even though the event organiser had been told there would be an iPod docking station provided. Eventually, after about an hour, a CD player and one CD was tracked down.

The food, for which we’d paid £35 for three courses, arrived and it was practically inedible. The pâté was an unnatural pink colour, the salmon was grey and the chips were hollow. The only reasonable course was the dessert and that was because it had quite clearly been purchased from Iceland.

The final insult was when they closed the bar at 11pm, even though we had hired the room and the bar until 1am. The manager’s response to our complaints can only be described as rude, childish and insolent in equal measure.

If you want to experience the worst customer service of your life, then I can thoroughly recommend Sashas.

Where do i start, Unfortunately I didn't look at Trip advisor before booking as I was in a rush.
Dirty, smelly, 2nd lift not working, air con not working, afternoon staff terrible, firstly gave me a room that smelt like an ash tray, their answer was you didn't ask for a non smoking room!!!
Breakfast if you chance it was poor but the staff were friendly. Taxi driver said to be careful at this hotel as the bar in the evening attracts unsavoury types.
Never ever going back.

Room Tip: Don't book it stay away

We stayed here on 31 st. August the staff were unhelpful. The lifts were not working and the air conditioning was not working. The room had no window and was very very hot. No air in at all. There was a small fan but it just moved the hot air about. I tried to ring an early morning call and it rang for ages with no reply so I walked 3 flights of stairs to find 3 staff chatting behind the desk and the phone ringing.
I found a brush on the the floor of the room so obviously had not been cleaned properly.
Terrible stay. Will definitely not stay here or advise anyone else to stay.breakfast edible nothing special.
Location o.k. Bed was clean.

Room Tip: Don,t bother with this hotel. Find another

For 45quid a night you could get a lot worse. Public areas could be stunning again if restored to former glory. Beds were comfy and rooms clean. We did have breakfast the next day which was nice but nothing special, we went for breakfast late but were not rushed at all. Staff were lovely.

Where to start on this hell hole.
Rude, unhelpful, incompetent staff.
dirty,pokey,dusty rooms.
Dead Bugs behind beds,
No plug sockets as dated lamps and 1960s tv was wired straight into wall. False advertisment and infomation on menu and service leaflet. Just to name a few. .I wouldn't recommend this hotel or use it myself again
