Love the refit of the rooms (in this case 545) just missed having a bath in it as we had been in this room previously before the hotel refit but the double headed shower was more than acceptable and quite good , all the staff were very polite and were very informative regards the local area and things to see. I Will definitely be returning again later in the year.

looks good in photos but spa overcrowded, unrelaxing and overpriced. Lifts broken, Mr Coopers closed (without knowledge at booking), request to have party placed near to each other completely ignored. Air con broken so a poor nights sleep.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your visit.

We are genuinely sorry to read that your stay didn't meet with expectations. Following your visit we have taken the opportunity to share your experience with Departmental Manager's for immediate review.

We do hope we have the opportunity to show you what we can truly deliver.

I went to the midland for a « Girls Breakfast out » and it was Fabulous.

Originally we looked online to decide which restaurant to go to, and we decided to go to the Principal Hotel, as the review were better. But the hotel was fully booked so we couldn’t attend. So by default we went to the midland.
Everything went beyond our expectations at the Midland, I think the review on TripAdvisor were outdated as it was nothing like it.

They gave us a space near a window to feel comfortable to eat and chat, the waitress were available but not intrusive.

Their was a LARGE choice of dishes, with TWO BUFFET: 1 continental and 1 Cooked. The Continental Breakfast was £15 and an extra £5 for the cooked breakfast. With UNLIMITED Drinks INCLUDED.
-My cooked breakfast Highlight was: The Sauté Mushroom and the vegetarian sausages.
-My continental breakfast highlight was: The Filled Cook SALMON, the Rye Bread, Large variety of Fruits, the Croissants and Cheese.
-My drinks Highlights were: Soy Hot Chocolate, Smoothie and large juices variety.

I want to thanks our waitresses, Sue Guimas & Vilma, who made us at ease beyond expectations. I also wanted to thank the waitress with Afro blond hair who was fantastic and made the experience a 6 Stars.

In a nutshell Breakfast at the Midland is COMPLETELY worth the price as you get a wide choice of Tasty Dishes for vegetarian, vegan, flexitarians and you are welcome by a fantastic team.
I will definitely return for another Mum/Girl Breakfast.

They serve until 10:30am (we stayed until 11am without any problem) with all you can eat. They really mean it, even the salmon was renewed as soon as it was finished, to my delight.

Ps: the seating is not as glamourous as the Principal, but the atmosphere and meals are completely making it up.

My daughter had her wedding reception here. We stayed for 2 nights on the newly refurbished 6th floor rooms. They are very comfortable, spacious, and with lovely furnishings and bathroom fittings. The beds are wonderfully comfortable! The function in the Stanley Suite was faultless, and the buffet was very tasty and creative/imaginative. It made the perfect wedding for our party of 100, in a beautiful building and in a city centre location. Its also handy for tram stops to the rest of the city, and train stations.

Noisy, air conditioning broken, reset but returned to being broken. Fan provided with broken plug. It just got hotter and hotter, I've not sweat so much since Munich during the July heatwave. It was that hot we couldn't sleep, didn't want to attend breakfast because we just wanted to escape outside and the heat had knocked me nauseous.
