Stunning architecture and fanatstic rooms well worth paying for the upgrade to the highest room you can afford they just get better.

Staff so helpful and friendly will do anything they can to help. The breakfast has so much choice of hot and cold you can fill the hungriest and fussiest of eaters.

I also recommend the 'fish finger sandwich' on the octagon lounge bar menu. This was the whitest fish and most generously proprtioned fish finger I have ever seen and tatsed divine.

Check out not until 12 noon as well very helpful and unusal for hotels these days.

Room Tip: pay for the best you can afford the top suites are truly amazing.

We stayed for 3 nights in February. Had a large twin room on the first floor in a quiet location near the conference rooms. Very comfortable beds and plenty of space. The buffet breakfast was included in our rate. Wide variety of hot and cold food. Plenty of choice for everybody. We also enjoyed the leisure area using the pool and gym.. The hotel is excellently located beside the tram. Easy walk to the centre of Manchester. Lovely friendly staff and a great stay at The Midland.

Stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary as we actually met in Manchester on the 2 February 1983. Chose the Midland from the glowing recommendations online. It is safe to say the staff especially the consiege team made our weekend. Told us of all the good places to go to- even a lovely little restaurant only 5 minutes walk away.
5 stars to you all.

Back now for a business conference and staying again at the Midland, currently sat in the handy Starbucks which is just round the corner thinking about the amazing impact this hotel has made on the city.

Congratulations

The building is second to none, the staff all extremely polite naturally. This is an excellent location - spent 1 night there before going to see Manu Vs Reading and bumped into the Reading team! - If it's good enough for a football team it was good enough for me!
Bedrooms are comfortable - spa adequate!!!

Having stayed in many supposedly 4* Hotels both here and abroad The Midland is without doubt the best Hotel we have ever stayed in. From the moment you walk into the building the place has 'class' stamped all over it. Whilst the modern face of Manchester has given rise to the likes of the Radisson and the Hilton none of them can compete with the sheer opulence of The Midland. The blend of traditional and modern throughout the Hotel gives you the feel of living in luxury whilst at the same time being part of history. You're not just staying at a top hotel, you're buying into a piece of history and an experience that you will stay with you forever. The deluxe twin room was huge and spotless, as was the rest of the hotel. Our 3 course Evening Meal was superb and Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice on both menus. A special mention for the outstanding staff however who, from the cleaners through to the Management, couldn't do enough for you. In particular the waiters in the Wyvern Restaurant who made a significant contribution to our photo album.

As always, my reviews are based on being a travel advisor along with being a consumer.

The Midland Hotel is absolutely perfect though. I cannot think of one thing I would change.
+ Large rooms
+ Comfortable beds
+ Good sized bathrooms (I stayed with a group of travel agents, apparently my bathroom was smaller than others but I thought it was just fine)
+ Shower had good water pressure/water temperature
+Tea maker in the room
+ Breakfast was very nice; service efficient
+ General manager and staff were always more than polite & more than happy to help!
+ Good location (there's a Starbucks caddy-corner to the hotel if you need your fix!)
+ Great bar and lounge areas
+ There was a wedding there during our stay; no noise issues and I was on the third floor.

Room Tip: Superior room!

Fantastic hotel with good service. Complimentary upgrade for my birthday, glass of wine on arrival was a lovely touch.

Overall a pleasant experience. Just a shame The French was closed.

Pricey drinks and the only negative for us was breakfast at 15 pounds per person I expected the food to be a least warm, it was a shame as it was clear the produce used was good
