Haven't been in the midland for years, but was booked there by work recently for a do, but couldn't fault it all. It's obvious a lot of money has been spend on the refurb and everything is to a high spec.

Stays at the Hilton Deansgate sometimes leave me disappointed as lots of small issues, not here, faultless!

We were on the 3rd floor facing out the front so a nice view but not noisy either. The room itself was very large and warm despite the high ceilings with good facilities and very clean. The bathroom was large and spotless too, great power shower.

All staff were friendly and polite from check-in to concierge, to room service to cleaners. We had breakfast in our room, the £5 tray charge seemed more expensive than other places but they did load the tray up well!

Found the AC was excellent and kept us warm despite it being freezing outside, usually hotel AC keeps you warm at best.

The only improvements I would like would be a two layered curtain so you can have the thinner one pulled across to still let some light in while keep some privacy, and the bathmat in the bath to be the whole length of the bath.

This was and still is THE place to stay in Manchester. The slightly old fashioned air of opulence envelopes one in a comforting blanket and from the greeting of the doorman to the efficient and friendly reception staff one feels that nothing will too much trouble. Our room was lovely and comfortable with all the usually expected amenities, a snack in the Octagon was delicious and served with professional efficiency. The only sad point was the breakfast room which felt very much like a canteen in its pared down style. The food was predictable, fresh and hot but nothing special and the bare tables and paper napkins made it feel more McDonald than Midland.

This beautiful, elegant and gracious looking hotel continues to delight. Friendly, welcoming service, warm, clean, comfortable rooms and excellent access to Manchester. the chilly weather is no problem. Air con - or extra electric heater available with a smile! Room service is excellent but sad the simple omelette has been taken off the menu - they were simply delicious. I miss them.
Breakfasts excellent (but do go down early if there is a conference during your stay - it can be a bit congested). Swallow hard at the bar prices - they are high but the surroundings are lovely!

Room Tip: rooms on the outside of the building can be a bit noisy - ask for for an inside one

Hotel was located centrally. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and could not do enough to help us. Yes the drinks are a bit over priced but nothing more than expected. The bed was so comfortable and the room was very clean.
The highlight was the buffet breakfast, not usually my thing but was very impressed by the quality of food and no one was rushing to get you out.
Would stay again anytime!

Stayed here on business so didn't have time to use all the facilities, the staff both at checkin and the restaurant for breakfast were excellent.
The hotel seems to be in a central location and looks imposing from the outside with bags of character not your usual glass and steel.
The bedroom was spacious and immaculate with a good size bathroom, the bed was extremely comfortable and with the climate control made for an excellent nights sleep.

Room Tip: As I stayed with 5 work colleagues everyone's room was of a similar standard

Lovely grand hotel, friendly staff, excellent food and the rooms were very comfortable with modern bathroom. They let us check in early at 11am because the room was ready which was great because we were attending a wedding at the Town Hall at 1.
The bar was a little overpriced and there is no direct parking, it cost us £25 to have it parked for us but there is a car park just down the road which is £5 for the day, we found this out from other guests.

This would be a 5* if there were parking.

Room Tip: drop bags at hotel as there is a pull up bay and then park up in Medlock car park for £5.

Dear Bevolly,

Many thanks for taking the time to review The Midland and so pleased that we managed to get you booked in early.

To be fair we offer a Valet Parking facility that we feel looks after our guests needs allowing us from the moment that they arrive to begin looking after them part of which is to park their car in a secure car park as well as return it at their convenience in advance of departure at our doorstep.

Please note that the car park security status and price mentioned by the reviewer may not be accurate.

I stayed at the Midland Hotel whils on business. The reception area was vast and grand, Very welcoming helpful staff. The bedroom was clean and comfortable but probably could do with some tlc e.g squeaky uneven floorboards. I accept it is a pretty old building but checks could be made now and again. Bathroom clean and spacious. I rang for an iron and ironing board and it arrived within a few minutes. All staff were very welcoming kind and polite, but the best were the 2 guys in the lounge bar, they were very welcoming, entertaining and had us in stitches. The lounge bar was very grand, luxurious and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was good

Room Tip: Great location, convenient for Piccadilly station, the theatre and shopping centre. Located on a fre...
