“Airport stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

We had an early morning flight and decided we would try staying at the airport and leaving the car, somthing we had not done before.
Check in was very efficient and well organised and we unloaded or luggage and parked in the designated area.
We were then able to take our cases into the airport and check in for the following morning, saving all the hassle.
We were then able to relax and grab a bit of sleep before our transfer to the airport and catching the flight. The only complaint I would have was I found the bed uncomfortable. Not too much of a problem for a very short stay, but if Premier Inn's can have very comfortable beds, then it should be possible to have them in all hotels.
This went smoothly as did the return, when we were able to get picked up and returned to pick up the car, all without a hitch, although this did take a bit of time as there seemed to be a lack of staff on the reception desk on our return.

Bewleys Hotel Manchester Airport is everything you always expected from a hotel at this location: it is a big newly build hotel missing every single element of charm or atmosphere. The welcoming was as cold as at the airport check in, the large bar / bistrot / restaurant "correct" food and drinks are served, the rooms are OK, breakfast buffet is as expected and yet, it was not a warm place to stay. We stayed only one night because we arrived late at Manchester Airport; the shuttle to and from the terminals is very handy and the special offer we received, was a real bargain.
At check-in we were immediately checked-out again; the rather annoying result was that we could not put drinks and food on our bill and that we had to pay everything cash.

We chose to stay here because we were flying out of Terminal 2 early in the morning and there was the option of car parking. We arrived around 11pm (thanks to Satnav not pinpointing it we drove around a couple of times trying to find our way into the hotel carpark, although we could see the hotel clearly from the road...!) There were only 2 staff on the desk, one of which was a trainee, and it seemed to take ages to get checked in. Our room was spacious with a HUGE bed - all comfy and clean. We were not disturbed at all by airport noise. Note: if you are flying from T1 or T2 it is quick and easy to walk over, albeit a little bit 'round the houses' but not good if you have lots of luggage. And there is a shuttle bus available. Breakfast would have cost £9 ish and we wouldn't have had time to enjoy it.
Collection of our car upon return was speedy and effortless - would do this again.

Room Tip: Use the car parking option - it was a good service.

We decided to stay at Bewleys on our outgoing journey and the Radisson on our return. Bewleys was chosen primarily for value for money, location and also for the gym. The hotel room itself was adequate but typical of a British value hotel chain. Our room overlooked the kitchens and staff smoking area and the train line, which we could hear throughout the night! In fact soundproofing was rubbish as we could hear fellow travelers coming and going all night. We ate in the restaurant which was a pleasant surprise, the food was excellent and we had the deal of up to 3 courses for a set price. However the service from the off was rubbish, with the waitress's unable to decide which one should serve us leaving us stranded before our order was taken. One of the reasons we chose Bewleys was for the advertised gym, somewhere we looked forward to after arriving via a long train journey. The gym was a joke! Difficult to locate as there are no signs for the gym, this would be an indication that Bewleys are embarrassed by this gym. 4 people and the gym is full as there are so few pieces of equipment. They really shouldn't bother!! Overall Bewleys lives up to its price tag but does nothing more probably will not stay here again instead will pay the extra to stay at the Radisson.

Dear reviewer,
Thank you for posting your review on Tripadvisor. I am sorry that you feel the hotel did not meet with your expectations. Many of our repeat guests favour us over many of the other airport hotels. I do hope that you would re-consider your decision to stay with us again especially as you feel we are value for money.
Kind regards

I stayed at this hotel before flying to Italy and paid to park my car here ...however when I picked my car up the boot had been rummaged and tools where missing, I know they say don't leave anything in, however how can you take tools in case of a flat tyre with you on holiday. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Stayed at this hotel prior to early flight to Mexico, check in very efficient and car parking arrangements were explained ( had booked parking as well with hotel). Room very nice however with been at the front of the hotel was slightly noisey but that's to be expected! Transfer by shuttle bus the next morning was very efficient and made it so much easier to get to the airport. On our return I had a bit of difficulty locating the courtesy phones but by the time we got outside the shuttle bus was waiting to pick us up and take us back to the hotel to collect our car. A very nice way to start our holiday and we will be booking with Bewley's again next year when we go back to Mexico. We did eat in the restaurant, having the 2 courses for £18.95, very fast service and the food was good - drinks a bit pricey but that's to be expected.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of hotel are more likely to be quieter

Arrived after driving for 2 hours and the greeting was not what we wanted , men in suits just walked to the desk and got served first the rest of us had to wait , each time we got to the front of the desk we were asked to go to another desk . The lady that checked us in was very polite and did apolgise for the wait , rooms ok heater broken asked for extra blankets and towels at check in . 3 hours later when i rang again to be told housekeeping have left now we will do it when we can !!!!! eventually extra blankets towels and a heater arrived so thank you .
The food in the restaurant was very good the staff in there were very cheerful and its a lovely evening. Hotel noisy from aircraft and from other guests arriving and leaving .

Dear reviewer,
Thank you for posting your comments on Tripadvisor. I am sorry that you did not feel the hotel met with your expectations. Your comments have been taken on board and I have recently implemented a fair queuing system. I am pleased, however to read that the staff were polite and you enjoyed the food in the restaurant. I hope you will use the hotel in the future when it will be my pleasure to welcome you back.
