Owner description: Manchester Cathedral has been centre stage in its city’s history for nearly 600 years. In 1421 Henry V signed a royal charter granting permission for a collegiate church to be built. In 1847 a new Manchester diocese was created and this historic church became a Cathedral. The doors are open 7 days a week and the admission is free. Do not miss one of the most interesting churches in the land at the heart of one of the most exciting cities on Earth.

We stayed quite close so decided to have a look around. This is a really exceptionally well preserved piece of architecture. The stained windows and general surroundings are really well preserved.
The warders are really informative and helpful in directing you around.
This church/cathedral is well worth a visit and such an interesting venue.

Rather eclipsed by The Arndale shopping centre just along the road, this is a great and friendly church for visitors. The history is well presented.

Excellent guide made the story of the cathedral and its history interesting and informative. You need good eyes to make out some of the details near the ceiling becaus of the size of the building.

I went here for the midnight mass on Christmas Eve. I enjoyed it thoroughly. However, as cathedrals go, I was a bit underwhelmed by the actual building.

If you're into your quiet places, this is certainly a highlight during a city stop. I would recommend for the historical aspect aswell
