A beautiful building with fascinating exhibits. The Peterloo Exhibition really enlightening. The St. John’s Fragment was explained excellently by Ruqajyah a member of staff that this fragment of papyrus was the text from the Gospel of John, generally accepted as one of the earliest record of the New Testament dated probably back to 200AD. A mention also for Rebecca a member of staff who explained the history of the Historic Reading Room, fascinating. A great visit.

Huge collection of books, from all parts of the world, some of which considerably old. Apart from books, you'll admire the beauty of the building and decor inside. Some historic content about the history and the founder of the library is provided, which makes the visit more interesting.

Spent a wonderful couple of hour exploring the rich and interesting John Rylands Library in Manchester! A must see for anyone interesting in literature, history or historic buildings! Opened in 1900, this neo-Gothic building says much about Manchester's industrial fortunes. It was modelled on a traditional Oxford college library, but put together on a grand Mancunian scale. Best thing - entrance is free!

I loved the building, inside and out, when I visited. The architecture is outstanding and there's so much inside to see.
