“Brilliant!”

The Peoples Museum is a rare gem. It is a must see for anyone visiting Manchester. This city was built during the industrial revolution and it's story is told from the perspective of the men and women who did the work.

“worth a visit”

Covers a very interesting period of English history. Could be improved by more visual exhibits rather than just posters to read

“dull and far too preachy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

i knew that this was not going to be great when i saw the ground floor exhibition on the co op.singularly ill timed in view of the current problems of that organisation.the upper floors ectolled the trade unions but only briefly mentioned that they nearly brought this country to a standstill in the seventies
.so not a museium i found of any interest or objectivity

“Be proud of your roots”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

One of the reasons I wanted to visit Manchester was to visit the PHM. Set on 2 floors , in chronological order and themes, it features a wealth of material and interactive features. It was refreshing to see a mother using the screens to teach her children some important points.(She was a bit "full on" to be honest) Children are very much encouraged to interact. There`s a big exhibition celebrating the Co-Op at present, and there is much for those who are interested in working class history to read about and view. Not disappointed, and very encouraged to see a real effort to engage children in their own history.
