Fabulous surroundings in what was an old bank. The food I thought was poor and expensive. Calamari starter rubbery, my prawns ok. Mains...my seafood pizza tasteless and no cheese!! Very sparsely covered...husbands linguini just ok! Price for these and 2 rounds of drinks... £87. It isn't so much the cost as it is the centre of Manchester but the food was definitely disappointing, not a patch on San Carlo. Service was good although the waiters hung around in groups which was a bit offputting! Would not return in a hurry!

I can't describe how horrendous the food in this place is. Pretty sure my garlic bread was bought from a supermarket and heated up, the bruschetta was unripe chopped tomatoes on stale baguette and was absolutely tasteless, the pizza had an inch thick layer of cheese on it and nothing else despite the fact it was meant to have red onion, artichoke, mushroom and olives as well, and the chicken main was overcooked. Every dish had a mountain of cheap, rubbery packet bought grated mozzerella chucked on top. Absolutely disgusting. I hate complaining and generally fill myself up as much as I can in a restaurant so I don't cause a fuss but, for the first time (and only time actually), I couldn't eat any of it and sent it all back before leaving to buy takeaway somewhere else. Not a great night out.
To be fair to the staff and the manager, he didn't charge us for much of the meal which sort of makes me think it's a regular occurence as there were no arguments (although he saw the food, how could he argue?!)
I believe the restaurant is owned by footballer Rio Ferdinand and it has the feel of a place that is somewhere to be 'seen' in and it was very busy even midweek. But there's no intimace as tables are right next to each other and there is no ambience. Jamie's Italian is next door, next time I'll try there instead.

The building is fab, but very disappointed with the food. We had the Parmesan chicken and it was tasteless. Also didn't look appetising! We won't be back.

Took advantage of their Lunchtime offer .Terrific deal, £12 .95 for a two course meal with wine at £5.95 per bottle. Both our meals were delicious. The building is a former bank and has been wonderfully transformed into an elegant dining delight. Service was good.
Most impressive.
