“Lovely but busy”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

We came here for something to eat to find a small queue out the door. However we didn't have to wait long before being seated. We both had a bowl of soup as we were saving ourselves for the famous cake. When the waitress came back to take our order she didn't ask my boyfriend if he wanted anything so we had to chase another waitress to complete our order. This meant the cakes came at different times, but it really wasn't a problem. The cake was gorgeous and a huge slice, good coffee too. When we got the bill the waiter was really apologetic about not getting the cakes together that he took them off the bill. We also bought one of the signed prints and a mug! A really nice place bit it is always very busy and it does feel a little bit rushed, not a place to take the Sunday paper

“Don't cheat on the tea”
Reviewed July 19, 2014 via mobile

Well it's supposed to be about the tea isn't it? A lovely generous, warm, soft scone with a beautifully presented jar of mixed cream and strawberry preserve. Very tasty. However, as flavoursome and tasty as the 'NQ ' tea blend was, £3.50 for a tiny teapot which was only three quarters full is stingey to be honest. We were firmly told there would be no refills; presumably no hot water? Why? With a queue at the door and customers paying through the nose there's no wonder they want you in and out. Shame as it's lovely stuff they're serving.

“Second visit - as good as the first”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

Second visit where we met up with old friends that we hadn't seen for a few years. As quirky as ever - a wonderful option in a city full of Starbucks and Costas.

“Quirky, Cute and Tasty food!”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

I have visited the Teacup Kitchen before and each time has been better than the previous experience! My boyfriend and I opted for a bit of lunch with some cake to share.

I had the dippy duck eggs with ciabatta soldiers; he chose a ham, cheese and pickle sandwich and then we both had the amazing RAINBOW CAKE for afters ;)

The food is well presented and you will not be disappointed. My duck eggs were large and served with a 'clack' (an egg shell cutter) so you could eloquently break the shell whilst getting your hands yolky dipping your soldiers ;) loved this!

He was very pleased with his sandwich too, his only complaint was that the pickles were a bit of a let down. Just not his 'cup of tea' - pardon the pun.

The cake was amazing; as always Teacup Kitchen do not squander on potion sizes and offered a huge slice of cake! This went down a treat.

We polished the whole meal off and the bill came to a reasonable £25.00 which I didn't mind paying for homemade, good quality food!

WE WILL BE RETURNING.

“Breakfast Heaven”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

I love my porridge, and the porridge here was dreamy. Thick, flavourful, just sweet enough and packed with yummy seeds, coconut and dried fruits. The rye toast was perfect, and you get so much jam and butter I couldn't eat it all, which is unusual in these days of hermetically sealed portion-packs. We got in at about 10:30 on a Sunday morning and by the time we left the queue was out the door. My only minor criticism would be that the service was pretty slow and not terribly attentive - we struggled to get our bill. But I would still highly recommend coming here for breakfast. It's healthy, hearty and really tasty.
