Went for a meal with 25 young family members. Went opted for the set menu, which included popadoms, starters and main. The popadoms were probably the nicest part of the meal. The rest of the food was extremely bland.

Be careful with parking at the NCP car park. The website says that they validate car parking tickets, for a discount. Unfortunately when we got there they would only validate two car parking tickets. Supposedly they told us when we were booking that they could only valid two. Not quite sure how they expected 25 people to fit into two cars!! Makes no sense! So without validation, as we were parked for more than two hours, that cost 11pound per car! Your better off parking on the streets.

Overall, food is bland, and car park is expensive, and they lie on their website about validation of car park tickets. There's better places in town for Indian cuisine. Go elsewhere!

went in last night, with hubby and children, waiters were very friendly and seated us where we wanted to be seated, looked after us very well, and the food was tasty, better than the previous time when we went there afew months ago, loved the grilled food especially biryani, my kids never eat rice, but this one was top, hoping to go there again next week.

We went here last night (18th may) with friends, recommended by an acquaintance. The atmosphere was good and the lighting and ambiance nice.
We were seated at 8.30 and although the drinks kept coming, no one came to take our order for at least half an hour. We waited another half an hour for popadoms to be brought out and by the time we got our starters it was 10.00.
We did entertain ourselves for that time, as we were comparing how far we could bend our popadoms as they resembled paper and you could bend them all the way round. Not as crunchy as we were expecting. At 10pm a couple on a table behind us still had not had their mains but they were seated at the same time as us- they walked out.
We enjoyed our starters but at this point we were pretty hungry- mains came out it was quarter to 11. The service and communication of the staff throughout was terrible. We didn't want to eat that late. A main dish from our table was sent back because it was cold, and nobody was raving about the food that we had waited so long to enjoy. Nothing special. At all.
After having a waiter drop and smash a glass on the floor and some it going down my leg, we were then told that no card payments could be made. The waiting staff kindly told us where we had to walk, during our meal, so off my partner went to draw out cash.
Two couples parked in an ncp car park. On Zaikas website they say they will pay for you car park ticket. Especially because of the ridiculous wait and constant apologies from staff, you would think that this would not be a problem, but oh no....we will not pay for two car parking tickets. Great. So after my partner arguing our case downstairs they begrudgingly gave us £6 per ticket, as it was their fault we were eating over two hours after we had first sat down.
This morning, mine and my partners tummies are churning, not in a good way, and we eat a lot of Indian food without any problems. Maybe our party, along with others eating there last night caught them on a bad night, but I would not recommend going for £70 a couple. The food is nothing great at all, and the service and communication of our order was also terrible- the drinks however do keep flowing. It was the first and last time myself and any of our party will eat here.

We have lived in the city for many years and have established some favourite eating places, and this is by far my favourite indian restaurant. The food is excellent, but its the service and atmosphere that really makes you feel relaxed and welcome. My favourite is the byriani and I think anyone who visits the AMC or is on their way to the casino, or even after a few in brew dog gives this great restaurant a shot.

My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday evening after work as a change from Akbars & East Z East. The selling point on the website for me was the promise of shisha, but sadly they no longer have this on site, which was a disappointment as it would have saved a trip to Curry Mile and given Zaika an edge over its competitors.

The waiters were polite and attentive but hung around the entrance like vultures waiting for anyone on their side of the restaurant to finish a dish, so it made us feel rushed despite the restaurant being half empty.

The food however was unquestionably good, and for 2 starters, 3 drinks and 2 mains we barely met the other side of £50, so with the great quality food and that number on the receipt there is not much room for complaint.

We'll definitely return, and hopefully when we do the staff will have eased up with their constant watching!
