“Avoid the so called breakfast”

This would have been 4 stars but the breakfast was a let down.
Room excellent, modern will all trimmings
Mind you no soap in shower (Minor point)
Good location on edge of town centre, price very good £69 B&B and very secure.
But breakfast was awrful, egg tasted like something but god knows what, sausages must have been brought in cheapest place possible. No bacon only beans.
Cups had a funny smell on them, and the coffe was no better. Otherwise it was good,
So steer clear of the breakfast pleanty of places near by

I had never been to a holiday inn and wasn't expecting a lot. The staff were fantastic when we saw them and the rooms despite average views were beautifully made up. Only complaint being I had to hold the toilet seat up. But all in all a great place and I owe my girlfriend a lot for a lovely stay

I stayed at the Hotel for approximately 2 nights on a Buiness trip in Manchester. I had stayed the earlier 3 nights with the Ibis down the road and wanted to experience this property. The traiff was tempting and was happy to dole out a few quid more for this smart property.

My check in was excellent and there was a jolly young chap assisting me, he gave me a lovely room right on the 9 floor if I remember correctly. The room was smart and sleep quality excellent. However I must point out that this room in paticular was a handicap friendly room, especially the bathroom, something that I did not ask for or enjoyed. The shower area was odd as was designed for people with special needs, I would have preferred a regular room. More importantly this paticular room has a HUGE drainage problem, the water after a shower would just stand and not move at all till housekeeping came in to clean the room. This was a disaster if I chose to take a shower at night as was left with a swimming pool of a bathroom till the next morning.

My complaints to management seemed as if they could do nothing and someone else was to blame each time. This is a special needs room for christs sake, do you want someone on specially abeled to fall and break his back?.

The morning of check out the same thing happened and was annoyed that when I called housekeeping to clean the bathroom that was as expressed earlier a mini swimming pool after breakfast, the girl incharge of the floow said they would clean up only after I checked out. This was RUDE. You messed up and I so do not want to spend my few hours before check out in a water logged bathroom should I choose to use the facilities.

However all being said if this problem had been non existent the hotel is nice, the food as expected and the reception efficent and warm especially to foreigners. Its on the main road and close to the bus stop and everwhere else. I think the location was great.

I will consider staying with them again minus the pool experience.

Stayed in a 8th floor room as a family of 3. No noise disturbance. Great views of the city. Room was clean and adequate with a superb shower. Breakfast was very nice with a reasonable choice. Would stay there again.

Weekend spent away with 3 girlfriends, arrived early at the Holiday Inn Express, staff in particularly Jackie Beardsmore were
brilliant, so helpful and friendly really informative. We were able to check into one room and were able to go and have some lunch in a nearby pub with some 2 for 1 cards given to us by the staff. Rooms were clean airy and spacious. Bathroom and shower were spotless and again spacious. Following a good nights sleep we were treated to a great express breakfast. Would recommend this Holiday Inn Express to anyone, it was a great experience and a great weekend.

Stayed 2 nights over a weekend. Friday and Saturday so before we arrived, not only did we expect noise of some description because of its city location, but expected it even more as it was the weekend. We were on the 8th floor, so maybe quite lucky that we may have been above any noise from outside - as me and my fiancee didn't hear a squeek from outside. We noticed we also had an ajoining door, and yes, there was a little noise as next doors guests came in and out but nothing bad. Interior walls were solid block not stud walls so that no doubt helped. Very clean, modern and smart. Room was comfy - even he sofa as so many sofas in chain hotel rooms are not. The staff were attentive, smiley cheerful and helpful. We never attempted breakfast as we went to Wetherspoons for ours just up the road so cant comment, however on the Sunday morning we checked out at half 9 and reception did look rather busy with queing people wanting their breakfast - but you are politely warned that this IS the busy time. Shower was amazing. Hot, powerful and plenty big enough - as was the whole bathroom. Did we leave happy? yes. Would we return? yes. Would I recommend? yes.

Room Tip: Probably the higher up the building the better.
