I stayed at The Park Inn as my husband and I were going to a gig at Manchester Arena. It is about 3 minutes walk away so is fantastic to stay there after a gig. The staff were friendly and polite and helped us with the disabled door as it was broken due to the wind. Our room was okay, but I would definately not class it as 4 stars. The bad points were, only 2 pillows provided, the bedspread was stained slightly, there was no divan cover on the bed, the hairdryer only blew out cold air, the city view was of a petrol station and building work, there was no satellite television as advertised and (just being picky now) there was no mini fridge. I recently stayed in some 4 star hotels so I know what Im looking for, and want from a 4 star. The menu for the restaurant seemed very pricey, but in honesty we didnt eat there so I cannot comment on whether its worth it, as I believe you do pay for quality. I should have probably rectified the problems mentioned while there but its not in my nature to complain and to be honest, I shouldn't have to. Now, the good points were that the bathroom was excellent. Normally disabled bathrooms look like an old peoples home, but this one was chic and had more than enough bars and handles etc, and a very sturdy shower chair. My husband was very pleased to have a comfortable bathroom. Also, the room was a very good size and he could get about very easily in his wheelchair. There was a fantastic air conditioning system which was very beneficial to my husband as due to his condition, he cannot regulate body heat so gets too hot very quickly. I had a fantastic nights sleep though as the bed was very comfortable and there was practically no noise whatsoever. All in all, I was disappointed as I was expecting more from the rating this hotel has, but I would definately stay again as for a quick stopover for a concert its good. But, if youre looking for a romantic weekend? Stay in a private hotel rather than a chain hotel like this one as it is somewhat clinical.
