The hotel is convenient for the MEN and is walking distance to the Arndale shopping centre, clean and well equipped but...................... we went down to the restaurant for an early evening meal, around 6:15 only to be told the restaurant was fully booked all night. We looked at the room service menu and the prices were scandalous for the area £10 for a club sandwich and £3.70 for a bottle of beer, £20 for a steak etc., so we popped out to eat.

Returning later in the evening, the room was cold and also we had no TV remote. We called down and about 20 minutes later someone arrived, went away and came back again, got the TV working and then asked us which channel we wanted to watch as he had to take the remote with him and there was no other way to change channels. So we went out to a local pub and spent the evening there.

Reception were totally disinterested when we explained at checkout what had happened.

The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the MEN area, and the most convenient place to park is the NCP at the MEN, currently £9 per 24 hours.
The hotel is new, modern in style and very clean. The rooms are functional, well equipped and very comfortable and the reception staff are lovely and very efficient. The swimming pool is small but nice as is the sauna. The little restaurant is efficient and OK if a bit pricey.
My only real gripe is that they are fairly rigid about the 2pm check-in; surely there must be rooms ready before then - it all seems a bit jobsworth just putting people's luggage in a room behind reception until the magic hour! Quite a few people were arriving from 1230 hrs and there were 2 rooms full of luggage.
The sleep rating would have been top marks (the blackout curtains made us oversleep and miss breakfast), however the fire alarm sounded at 0410 hrs for just long enough to make sure we were fully awake.
We were here for the Santana concert and booked the hotel early for £70.50, a week later the price was up to £94, the moral of the story being book early before they realise what is on at the MEN.

Excellent Localtion if you are going for a concert or event at the MEN. Within easy staggering distance. The rooms are fine, no problems. Bathrooms a bit bizzare, seem to be 'pods' that are all the one piece of plastic. The shower doesn't have a door so the mirror steams up.

The bar area is great and that staff were very helpful. Bar was MOBBED after a gig, but a really good atmosphere.

We stayed at this hotel whilst going to see Muse play at Old Trafford and it was perfect for what we needed. It is just outside the city centre, close to big public car parks and has bright, spacious rooms. It feels like a posh travelodge and hard to knock given around £60 a night. It does have other facilities and a Spa so whilst not super cool or fancy quite a well equiped venue

Stayed at the hotel for an overnight business visit. Having booked online several months before and travelled up from London on the day (midweek), I got there about 6pm to check in. Was told by reception that my room wasnt ready as they had had a big booking in and it would be available late evening.

There was no apology, no offer of discount or anything, just a suggestion I go out for dinner and return later that night.

After making a fuss they found a room that was available - which was dark and dingy unsurprisingly. So finally managed to move to a decent room just before 10pm.

Rooms themselves were nice enough, moden and well-equipped. Location of the hotel great for central Manchester. Breakfast was also good.

However, I wouldnt recommend or stay there again simply due to the rude reception staff, and after a long train journey was far from impressed at being told to wait until late evening for my room.

I spent there the weekend with my girlfriend. We had booked the spa package, which included access to the spa and a massage for both of us. The hotel is modern, clean and the staff nice and friendly. We had some problems with the booking but it was solved before getting there. The staff at the bar were pretty slow but it's a common feature in this country.. As for the room, it was clean and of generous size, like the bed, which was quite comfortable. overall I think it's very good value and it's only 5 min walk to the main shopping areas
