“Lovely spa but lacking little touches for a 4* hotel”
Reviewed June 14, 2011

Stayed here for a recent Take That concert. The room rate was very reasonable, booked on advance purchase rate. I used a pay and display car park across the road and it was only £4.10 for 24 hours! Cheaper than most hotels "on-site" car parking.
The reception area is very welcoming and I was dealt with promptly.
The room itself was very pleasant. My only gripe here would be there is no clock.
The bathroom only had a wet room shower, which was very nice and clean. My problem is with the lack of toiletries, a dispenser on the wall with body/hair shampoo. YUCK! There was no shower cap or bar soap available. For a four star hotel I feel this is very cheap.
The bed was very comfy but oh dear the pillow was the worst I have ever experienced. It was like sleeping with your head on a giant marshmallow !
The spa area was superb. Very clean, with a beautiful pool, vert large steam room and sauna. The changing room was very small though. It was a case of where can I stand and get dressed as there was nowhere to hang your clothes.
I did not eat at the hotel, so can't comment on the food. Went to the Printworks which indeed is just a short stroll away and well worth a visit.
This hotel is ideal if you are attending an event at MEN arena which is situated over the road. Our concert was at City of Manchester stadium. Approximately a 45 min walk away. Unfortunately, when I was looking for a hotel to book in order to attend the concert google maps incorrectly showed this hotel as being much closer to the stadium. I wanted to be able to walk to the stadium but ended driving to Manchester Piccadilly and walking the city route which took 25 mins in the pouring rain. Concert was well worth it though!
Not sure if I would stay here again as the hotel appeared to be trying to be something it was not. Needs some tweaks to draw me back again.

Stayed here for one night on a package to see Take That. It's a clean modern hotel and ticks all the boxes.Check in took all of five minutes and the room was modern and very clean.A bit disappointed that we only had a shower and that there are no toiletries provided but other than that there is nothing much to complain about. The breakfast was fine and the burger we bought in the bar at 1 am after getting back from take that was really good. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk away from the city centre (Print works etc) and we found the staff helpful and pleasant. Although it has a pool we can't comment as we never had time to use it. At the right price we would probably go back especially if we were going to the MEN which is right across the road.

Stayed here for three nights on a break with friends, two twin rooms on 2nd floor. Clean, modern, really comfy beds. If you leave Victoria station via the tunnel near the MEN, it is only about 2 minutes walk, less than 5mins from hotel and you are in shopping heaven! Service great, we asked for an iron and board which took less than 10 mins to arrive. Didn't eat or drink there, so can't comment, but if all you want is a bed for the night, this is perfect - never heard any noise all night (apart from my roommate snoring, ha ha!) Would definitely revisit.

Good location, about 500 yards from Arndale centre, fine pool and gym. Boutique decor.
Our room had a mini wet room, ask for a bath if required. For a four star hotel was surprised that we had to ask for toiletries? We stayed over the Take That weekend, the breakfast was busy after 10am, but staff ensured all who queued were fed. ( local tips - There is a Londis convenience store 100 yards if you head away from town centre, continue that way for many local take aways )

Room Tip: Ask for room on upper floor, quieter

We came back to this hotel after a pleasant visit in December. We truly love this hotel and find the pool and spa area a fantastic feature.

This time we visited on a Saturday to hopefully have abit of relaxation in the pool area. however it was full of a stag doo party of about 15 blokes shouting and taking the P*** basically, yes ok they are entitled to a good time but felt this wrecked our experience. If you plan on coming to this hotel for a quiet break come on a Monday as we found this the quietest time...

The rooms are lovely and clean and we couldnt hear any external noise from other rooms. The hotel is about 15 mins walk into the centre but its not far out.

There was lots of choice at breakfast with fantastic vegetarian options, staff were very attentive and friendly. Big thumbs up there !!!

All in all we love this hotel and will keep returning back.

We stayed at this hotel because we were going to a concert at the MEN. Its location for this is brilliant - just across the road. Also, its a short walk into the centre of town to the Arndale Centre and the Printworks.
We didn't really use the facilities, so I can't comment.
The hotel doesn't have its own parking so we parked across the road in the MEN underground car park. the price was a reasonable £9 for one night.
All in all, a good experience.
