“Traditional theatre with period features”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

Nice old theatre with period features but beware... The gradient of the stalls seats is not steep enough for us shorties to have a good view not even on top priced tickets. They do provide booster seats for kids though. I'm 5 foot 4 and felt like asking for a booster seat but didn't as their was a little girl behind me struggling to see even with her booster! Toilets are conveniently located in the stalls but could do with an upgrade in order to be in keeping with the plush theatre.

“The Lion King Manchester”

The show was fantastic. The entire cast were absolutely amazing - with one exception. The hyenas were very poor. They just walked about like humans rather than trying to mimic hyenas and therefore they lacked the ability to be particularly believable. The people playing the lions and giraffes were particularly good and very convincing.

“Lion king”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Enjoyed the first experience of seeing a touring West End show up north the matinee performance was great the costumes and set design were brilliant. It seems this cannot compete with the video games of today for many children were not as enthralled and were noisy and unruly it did detract a little from the day although was expected. When the interval came I was glad to stand and stretch the legs as the seats we occupied in the Circle at £55.00 were cramped.

The Palace is old but lovely and although we where up in the cheap seats we where happy.
Expensive drinks though!
